Been listening to the dx340 now for several hours/days and gotta say it's super great. It's analytical, detailed but at the same time smooth and analog and natural and makes my music sounds emotionally engaged (I missed that in several setups).

I know it's an expensive player and some will say that it's not worth 3/4x the price of a dx180 or +/- 2 time the price of a dx260 but for me it is! The dx340 does something to my music that I really like and really missed the past year.

So really great job Ibasso (Paul) I remember again why I buy ibasso players :)

Now let the wait begin for the amp16 😎

I’m hovering here as a DX320 owner with amp 12 from NPAudio - AMP12EXN-S Upgrade with OPA 1655 option.
With my Empire Ears Odyssey the match is fantastic and so not jumping to buy the 340 just yet, waiting until someone else tries there 340 with an upgraded NPAudio card

One thing that troubles be is this statement from iBasso:-

Any of the technical guys on here like to explain this, as it does not look like a good option if it adds noise to the PO out?
Is there any way to stop this from happening?

Loving this thread, keep up the good work :L3000:
Keep in mind you are technically voiding your warranty by using a modded card. Ibasso is a good company and will still fix DAP if there is an issue. Paul told me this in email before I sold my Dx320 because I had a NpAudio card. With AC power to stock Amp cards this maybe better than any of the 320 modded cards. Ibasso seems to be really upping their game. The Amp section on my Dx260 is much better than dx320 stock amps and even preferred it to 320 with mod Amp 11 card. That model is now a year old. I sold my Dx320 and all the cards I had.

For those that can wait there will be ones listed in classifieds guessing eventually for 1250 to 1400 range. Saw one listed brand new for 1600 recently.

Hi, thank you for your reply. I'm planning to use it as a portable source, so the 12v power supply on not an option for me, so not gaining anything there!
Do we know yet why the noise is added using the amp 12 but not the 14?
Cheers :beerchug:

Noises can come from anywhere. It is hard to say. But the bases differences between 340 and 320 in Line Out modes are already very different.

Because DAC architects...1 is IC chip and the other is discrete!

The amp12 is capable to work with the 340 but... is not optimized 😆. That is just as simple as I can say it. Something we just have to accepts.

I think the description said that Phone Out will have high noise.

Hopefully this is just a dream 😲

Yepe, when Line In is already affected then Phone out will be as well (DAC - Line out into Amp Line In)

One device I can think of from the top of my head is the

Walkman Zx2

The Walkman uses S-Master. It DAC line out is similar to the 1 bit discrete. The Line Out is very very low, and once amplified too much without proper (amp in designs to specifically utilize this low level). Then it is noisy. Later on, all later walkmans no longer allow Line Out Taps anymore

Not sure how much "noises". But this is the case of ... compatible but not optimized from the ways these DAPs were structured by it unique DAC.

Just wondering what the group thinks. Currently have the dx300 that I use as my DAP. Have the dc-elite for phones, computer, etc. is it really worth upgrading to the dx340? Am I really going to notice differences? I play rock, jazz, instrumental, mostly. Thanks all

The differences would be "YyyHHHUuuuGGgggEEE" 😁. You seem to be a person whose taste is into the organic instruments. If that is indeed the case, then the analogues capabilities of 340 is stunning!!! The 300 mimick the analog systems with warmth ambient and signatures. But that is very different than the analogues energies and vibes that the 340 and or D16 can achieve.

But then again, I dont want my post to be your mistakes. So please, do demo it as soon as you can before you decide. We all are uniquely different from one another

This a noob question, but how do I change the sample rate on the iBasso DX340? When I'm streaming Spotify Premium, its only at 44.khz and when I use the bluetooth DAC its at 48 khz.
It is not a noob question. I think those apps have something to do with Native Android SRC. I think they adapted into it for better universal purposes that can work on anything androids.

I can not change my sample rate to native with even Amazon Music...they always appear 192Khz LOL!!!

I just listen to my stored collections. But I can see how annoying this problem can be. I hope someone else can chime in

I have a DX300 and DX340; play mostly Opera, Female Vocal and Rock, not much Jazz.
I'm very happy with the change to the 340. A step forward IMO... YMMV.

Isn't Spotify Premium mp3 320kbps at best? It still doesn't have lossless steaming that it was promising......

If thats the case it wouldn't actually matter what android sample rate is showing on the top of the player, its not lossless.
