I am huge fan of the ibasso d16 and pb5 of which i own.
Ibasso is really onto something,with the 1bit discrete dac(which i much prefer over the rohm chip type)
I cant wait to hear the dx340’s implementation of this dac type
Thank you for letting me know that. I apologize for not properly searching the thread. I love my DX320MAX ti. In my opinion it's sound quality is a fair amount better than my AK SP3000 DAP I was using before. The main two standouts are the sound has more fullness and power and the soundstage is a lot more 3Dimensional and enveloping. It has worked really well with both my Macbeth and Novus IEMs. I also found that if you set your AMP dial setting to the last position "IV", the sound has more weight and power behind it than with the other settings. The only downside is you have to use a very low analog volume dial setting and then use the digital volume to get the level dialed in.
Two questions any chance the DX320MAX/ti version will get an android 11 to 13 update. If not, any idea how long it is after the base DX340 is release how long it generally is before the DX340MAX version would come out? Just asking. I just bought my DX320MAX ti DAP not even a week ago.
I would doubt they are going to change to 13. You really don't want it either. There is a lot more bloat with 13 and some minor bugs with apps not starting when rebooted. I just finished the DX180 optimization guide and there is a lot more to do on that one because of 13 vs 320 - ver 11.
I have not heard anything new on the release date. I am in contact with Paul regularly but don't want to keep bugging him with that question. I know he wants the 340 to be released ASAP but whatever this part is must be very important. My guess is end of the year.

I thought I'd pretty much sworn to myself to not bother with a DAP. D16 with phone is awesome. But it's becoming very tempting with the 340. Time will tell..
I think though adding a PB5 would be next. But the SR3 is sooo easy to drive, wondering if it's needed.
I just need a Dx260. I am trying to borrow one from someone but people don't want to be without their DAP for 2 weeks as I have to do a lot of testing and then create documents. I don't want to put out something that will cause issues for people. Would be cool if I could get a loaner from Bloom like the reviewers get. These guides do take time to make because I have to research all the modules and do all the pics to make them as easy as possible. The Dx180 took a lot more time that I thought it would. Ibasso/Paul will provide me any software tools I need. The more people want guides for a model the more likely Ibasso might provide me a loaner directly I am guessing. I really want to get my hands on a 340 and have guides done by the time they are available at local distribution partners so will see if I can buy directly from iBasso when they have started making units. The more people are interested the more likely it will be I can do this.

I asked Paul if they would be available sooner if they were bought direct from him but he has not responded yet and asked the price. My guess if you want one as soon as they are made you will have to get one directly from Paul as that has happened with past new releases from what I read.
