They'd be shooting themselves in the foot if it did.
Its the same hassle from the US to China and back due to shipping costs but you may duty to pay which is BS since it would be for a repair, not a new purchase. I do not know how all you in the EU put up with that theft. They are taxing you to death. It’s easier when you are in the east. I’m not sure if this would be the same experience when something breaks in the west and needs repair, especially in the EU.
D16 and PB5 in one dx340 sized brick? Nice? Only? Oh manWould be really nice if they are very close to each other,
I don't think so. D16/PB5 will probably endup being more powerful anyway so a better solution for full sized demanding cans but sound wise they could be on par using IEMs. Then DX340 becomes the first choice for portability and D16/PB5 for the house or transportable hotel room solution. They'd be shooting themselves in the foot if it did.
I say 2 years if they even release one at all. 2 watts while plugged in is not too shabby with ability to bypass batteries too.Until DX340Max is released next year…![]()

340 will already be stainless Steele so already made better than 300 and 320. You maybe right. With Max you can't swap amp cards unless they add that to next one which would be nice. That is a huge plus to standard models so will never buy a Max for that reason alone. There will be one.
It’s been done for the all previous 300 series models. It’s not only the wattage that matters, the way the amp is built and how the DAC is refined are an appealing approach which made the MAX series successful.
We can only hope. Paul did say he was hoping to release by end of the month.Just noticed this facebook post by iBasso, looks like desktop DAC/AMPs will be releasing soon too.
Not sure if these will release along with the DX340 though.

I must admit after buying a few DAP’s from different manufacturers and not being satisfied - got a DX180 few weeks ago and was blown away by the value for money offering on this DAP. A really impressive offering for the money.IF you have never contacted Paul with an issue let me tell you he is very responsive and kind. You don't see that in many Chinese companies. He cares about customers and listens. That is worth a lot in my book. The 340 will be my last DAP as it should last years the way it is being built and replaceable battery.
Let's see how the production 340 goes. I will buy a 340, no question about it. The 180 is great value for the money especially if you can score it for $350 used mint condition. One was listed today and it sold fast at $350. The volume wheel on 320 is very similar and have not had any issues with either.I must admit after buying a few DAP’s from different manufacturers and not being satisfied - got a DX180 few weeks ago and was blown away by the value for money offering on this DAP. Had been waiting months for the new Lotoo but having now experienced ibasso I’m torn between going for the DX340 or the new Paw GT2.
One thing I love about the Lotoo is the volume knob and the way it operates and its placement. The one on my DX180 feels like an afterthought and cheap in its feel and operation.
