How’s dx320 in 2024? I’m ac tu ally using a dx260 thinking of upgrading eventually, I’m looking for a bigger screen since I’m always discovering new music.
Can it hold against hiby rs8 or ak sp3000?
Thanks
I own the DX320X and the Sony WM1ZM2 and I use both on alternate days.. On DX320X I typically use Amp12 or Amp14 and I gotta say both are great! There are times when 1ZM2 shines on anime OST with nature sounds, wind instruments and vocal tracks while times where DX320X also sounds amazing. I also love the customization of the 4 amp cards, although it's getting difficult to find some cards as ibasso has stopped selling them.

My concern with the DX320X is really on the physical buttons - my power button is really "sticky" and doesn't register presses well.. While the volume wheel rotation works great, it registers about 20-30% of the presses and requires me to press it a certain way with a lot of force.. For such a premium device, it doesn't seem acceptable to me. I also saw this mentioned on another DX320 Head-Fi reviews by voja (https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/ibasso-dx320.25723/reviews). Curious to hear if anyone else has this issue and managed to solve it? thanks!

I haven't had any problems on the unit I'm currently selling off.
What cases did you use with them? The premium black leather case fits perfectly (it was included specifically for the Edition X) the plastic TPU cases you see online for the DX320 won't fit the Edition X because the chassis is of a different shape. The black leather cases that are included with the AMP12 were never really good as they end up touching the volume wheel impeding the clicking action and scrolling.

Volume wheel clicks very well without much delay and scrolling is nice too. There is also a double tap to wake function on the player in android mode which is handy as well.

If you already own DX260 I highly recommend you listed to DX320 before purchase as you might be disappointed. I owned both DX320 and DX260 for several months and they are on par in terms of SQ, they just have a different presentation.

Before, there was a clear gap in SQ between DX240 and DX320 (I used to own both of them at same time as well), I'd say DX320 was just better - it was clearly more powerful, and more resolving with both wider and deeper soundstage. Difference was immediate and obvious when I switched between them, but DX260 is extremely impressive. It's on par with DX320 when it comes to detail, it has maybe slightly narrower soundstage, but that's about it.

However, you might like the sound of DX320 more. It sounds more energetic and aggressive, to my ears, sometimes fatiguing, DX260 is more neutral and less "in your face" sounding. Again I would definitely recommend listening first. AMP cards can change the sound of DX320, but it's not a gigantic change, it still retains its general characteristics.

After months of use I came to a conclusion that DX260 is a superior DAP to DX320 for my use case and it's the only one I kept. It's smaller, lighter and has better battery life. It also plays nicer with wider variety of headphones (could be irrelevant if you're willing to roll the AMP cards on DX320). For me the big plus is also that DX260 is slightly more powerful than DX320, which comes in handy as I listed to headphones only.

At the moment I'm also waiting for DX340, probably like many others in this thread. Based on how good DX260 is compared to DX240, I believe DX340 could be a beast of a DAP.

Thanks that’s really helpful, didn’t imagine dx260 is stronger then dx320 amp side.
I wanted more power since my annihilator are running at 80 volume
Another note…I’m looking for a bigger screen since I’m always discovering new music and artists directly from the dap.
Dx260 display is sometime too small

Yeah, DX260 is pretty tiny and light, which really suits me - I like DAPs to be pocketable (I'd say DX320 is still somewhat pocketable). If you want bigger display, DX320 is probably one of the best DAPs in general.

In terms of power, I AB'd DX320 with AMP12 and DX260 a lot, with several headphones. They are very close, but I'd give slight edge to DX260 (for example to get the same volume on high gain with HD 800S, I needed 35 volume from DX320 and 49 from DX260, which means there's a little bit more headroom with DX260, I also felt like the bass was better controlled on DX260 with same volume, but it's hard to tell for sure as the sound presentation is quite different from both DAPs).

I hate my dx260 without tap to wake 🙈
Yeah, I use tap to wake to reduce the number of presses.

@DAPpower, I have the silicon case and the black leather case. However, this issue persists even when using without the case, leaving me to believe it's a hardware issue.. I think for Edition X, the contoured chassis on the side also makes it more difficult to press than the standard DX320.. Oh well, I guess it is what it is..

Hello, I have just bought a used DX320, I charged it with a GAN charger when D battery was around 30% I left it for two hours and it was 80% on D and 84% on A battery, I let it charge for another hour and the percentage was the same. I turned the player on and checked if the limit to 80% was activated but it wasn't. Is this normal or are the batteries defective?

Have you done a factory reset in the main Android menu under System and then reset options? Also, make sure it is on the latest firmware.

It's just a visual indicator glitch, once you unplug it and plug it back in it should update with 100 percent on both sides.
