It seems like amp9 does just fine with full size dynamics but struggles to drive full size planars. That makes sense.

I'm wondering about IEM size planars (LCDi4s).

I don't think I'd even bother trying planars such as LCD-2, 3 or 4 with a DAP. They need a beefy fullsize amp - especially the LCD-4.

The LCD2's sound great with AMP1 MKII and sound incredible with AMP8.

does someone know how I can get USB audio player pro working on the ibasso dx220? I need's an active licence from the play store, but play store crashes.

Tried N8, and it was good, but Tube Mode was a little too warmth and trebles sparkling were not as good as it SS which is a happy medium between dx200Ti and WM1Z (Sound signature) by the time I tried. Back then, I hoped to have something that is similar to N8 Tubes, but more balanced with sparkling trebles and the Amp9 is exactly that.....except....yeah, I want more gain

Is the treble as sparkling as on 200Ti Amp1?
I'd imagined the extra tube warmth to have toned down the nice sharp treble?

Dx220 is different than 200titanium, and Titanium has the best treble sparkling I have heard for any DAP.

If you asked about N8, yes very similar, but also different as the overall signature is a happy medium between 1z and 200ti

I will try amp9 with DX200Ti and compare amp9 with DX220. Stay tuned...

Just install Lurkers add-on. There is an option to activate play store.
