So, today just as any other days that I love Dx220 and want it to be better. Yes, Ibasso is amazing with the Dx220 and since I had an extensive comparison to Amp1Ti with the experiences that I gained through trials and errors. I improved the Amp1 MKII by mimicking the Amp1Titanium. Therefore, once again, Ibasso has proven to me that they are geniuses

Applied TK 330uF/16V in additional of mimicking *inspired by Titanium (220uf/10V). The missions is to smooth out the top end graininess, and improving bass slams even further.

This modifications doesn’t mean that Dx220 and stock MkII is bad. It is my preferences and experiences that showed me the compromises of MKII in contrast of Amp1Titanium. Therefore a modifications to improve it by my preferences/experiences

Just done this mod to amp1mk2 I noticed exactly like @Whitigir stated above. However, I found the background is blacker, vocals are clearer and the soundstage is little more bigger compared to DX200Ti/ amp1Ti.

So... If I'm using single ended right now.. I might get "unbalanced burn in" later when I switch to AMP8? :expressionless:
I dont think thats how its work.. well. just do burn in with the cable provide... like Jmills8 said, dont over think...

get that's AMp8 first... If I not mistaken, there's no Burn in cable with Amp8 purchase... so I alrd set my eye on adapter 2.5 to 4.4 male...

Very nice! I am glad you love it ! This simple mod is pretty good on the Dx220 stock. I would name it the Dx220-i . The name is from “i” as in “iBasso” and is also “inspired by:wink:

Why isn’t there an option to turn digital filters off??

I'm definitely not an expert, but from what I understand they are DAC presets for how the digital signal isr processed and sent. There is always a "filter" applied, it's just that we are lucky with this DAC used to have more options :)

Check this out if you want to dig deeper, play around with the filters, except for brick wall, that one is trash

In my opinion, iBasso did the right thing to switch from 2x470uF to single 1000uF cap which provides better coherent sound and fuller dynamics with better focus and transparency. Adding 330uF electrolyte capacitor will ruin these improvements. I recommend changing current Nichicon cap to something else or add different type of capacitor if you want to do a proper bicap.

To my ears the musics are exactly same as you described above and I don’t hear anything not right after adding TK 330 uF 16v. :smile_phones:

That's why I said in my opinion. If you like it, there's nothing wrong about it for your mod as long as it doesn't have potential to damage your device.

hello,
i need help on my dx220. tried using it as a DAC on my hp elite g2, but cannot use it. tried installing the audio driver for windows, but in the control panel of the audio driver, the device gets recognized for a very brief period, then disappears and reappears again. the control panel window changes from the first image that i have uploaded, then to the next image, and back again. i have reset the dx220 several times to its factory settings, but to no avail. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

Quick question: anyone ever have issues with Samsung microSD cards (I’m looking at a 512gb EVO plus) or SanDisk Ultra 400gb, which have the best price/read speed/size relationship here. I use both brands for my cameras with no issues, hence my preference for those bends.

Also, what’s the recommended file system to use? exFAT?

Nayparm - you want to help one of these guys out? It appears as though you still have one AMP8 (stock) module for sale in the Source Components For Sale / Trade forum if that is still accurate...

Cheers,
Tim

P.S. - He is in the UK and they are 8 hours ahead of the west coast so I imagine Nayparm might be sleeping right now - or maybe not...

Doh! I forgot change it to sold, @Whitigir sent @gugman my way to help him out with an AMP8w mod. Instead of him buying a new one to send to me I used that one.

But cheers anyway :beerchug:

I would avoid SanDisk Ultra. Got several of those died on me.
my Ultras OK. What it does have an issue though is - when im loading files from PC using adapter, keep on unplugging by itself! Nevertheless whilst using on DAP, no issue. I purchased my 200gb way back in Dec. 2015, used from LGV10 & now on board the 240...
