So, some have been asking for my impressions of the Amp8EX on the DX220. I only compared it to the Amp1mkii so there's that. And full disclosure I am a 65 year old man with many years of loud music through my ears. So when I say the difference is real and easy to hear then all you young folks will find it just stark. The sound is just cleaner with more impact more clarity. Deeper and cleaner bass, crystal clear highs, just more delightful. Further disclosure: my enjoyment of music comes not from what equipment I listen on ( although I have some very nice equipment) but from the music itself.

By the way, and FYI, I was using HD800.

So I just had to put the stock Amp8 on it to satisfy my curiosity and as one might expect it kind of falls in the middle. Better then 1mkii but not as good as the EX. It's why My name is at the top of the pre-order list

Hey guys, if you're considering whether or not to get in on the amp8EX Fan edition, let me offer some perspective.

A few months back I got the flagship cable from Effect Audio. The improvement in sound quality was amazing and I'm very satisfied with the total investment of around $1750USD. I would place the gains in SQ roughly on par with the jump from standard amp8 to my amp8EX-P. The iBasso amp8EX Fan edition is being offered for $60 above the standard amp8. This is an amazing price for what you are getting! To get the mod done yourself with parts would double the entire price.

Once this opportunity ends and the units get into the hands of users this is going to be one of the most sought after pieces for any iBasso fan.

I have zero affiliation with iBasso and I can't imagine this profits them in any real way to do this. They've done it so you can enjoy the music. Take advantage of it.
