I have one coming from the Fidelizer shortly as they provided the followings -

1. Better quality caps tuned with optimal value for better sound quality (as you heard on AMP8)
2. Better opamp buffer upgraded after Nutube stage (can drive high impedance headphones better with more reserved power)
3. Damping tweaks on Nutube module with improved vibration control for better transparency reducing negative effects on rubber cover

Unfortunately, they didn't give me much promise on hiss improvement. Most likely not much affect on bringing down the ghost noise.

It was a joke: the tube on the picture (6С33С-В) was designed for power supplies, and it weights like DX220 body itself.

So $399 to buy the AMP 9 with the mod applied or $250 for them to upgrade your AMP 9. Considering the MSRP of the AMP 9 is $250 alone the $399 isn’t terrible i suppose.

Thank you for the link! Now I understand who had created that hype around the tube that was dirty cheap here in Russia only a few years ago (<$10). It is not suitable for audio, but it's a good example on how easy to sell BS to audiophiles!

Nice one!
I'm more into transistor amps, but curious about tube amps. If there will be a more or less hiss free version of Amp9 in the future, then i might consider buying one.

All tubes hiss...regardless. In order to make it hiss less, you will need to take in a lot of different EE measurements.

It is possible, but the size of it wouldn’t make it portable

Actually I paid 499 to get the new amp9 mod.

It is impossible to Modify an Amp module for less than $450

But this is the perk of Dx220. The ability to swap module
