How many hours DX200 works if you use WD?
Never tried to use them together for a long time without an external power supply (power bank, in my case). With direct connection, I used it only briefly, to copy files from HDD to microSD or Internal storage.

I see. Thanks!

I want to use a different file browser that can get albums from my smb server, but it cannot write to mSD, even after granting him the proper privilages, what to do?
Second question my PC doesn't see the player when on mango? USB-DAC is working though.

Android 6 method to grant write permission to microSD is broken in DX200 firmware. The only solution I know is to do it via System settings in USB Audio app in my firmware.

Same here: in my firmware, you can access microSD from Mango.

I'm very sceptical in using cfw, but if stock FW is so broken I'll guess I need to try, thanks.

edit. where do I find instructions for windows?
Here is only linux and mac

Could you maybe share a screenshot of the DX200 mounted with an external HDD like WD 2TB? Want to make sure I know what to look for and that I didn’t miss anything!
Here is my 2TB HDD, MBR, NTFS, with SACD ISO images:

I also tried 4TB HDD, GPT, 4KB clusters, and it is not a problems as well:

But you may see that a phantom "default" drive is shown, as corrupted. I assume, it is the GPT itself. It prevents the drive to explore in Explorer, but it is accessible in Mango Player (Android), Neutron, MX Player.

This is awesome, thanks Lurker! Very illuminating.

I'm still not detecting my external HDDs. I even got a relatively old, empty WD 2TB Elements HDD, quick-reformatted it as exFAT, but it didn't work.

I tried a micro SD card which it detected, but it said it needs to be formatted (which I didn't do yet).

After installing Lurker's FW, do I need to change any settings? (I'm an Android newbie, so there may be something I'm missing in the settings.)

Kind of frustrating trying to determine where in the chain it's not working!

Thanks again.

For OTG to work - nothing. But I'd suggest to read what I've written about changes made by me. Including the ability to take screenshots by the button in the bottom bar

Well I received Amp5 this weekend. So far underwellmed by it.

What are you combining it with and what exactly do you feel underwhelmed by? :)

I was quite overwhelmed with the improvement it brings from AMP 1, bu then again, I havbe more SE than Balanced so AMP 5 was a huge thing for my overall collection compared to say AMP 3 or AMP 4

I agree. I only have SE phones. The difference from AMP 1 to AMP 5 was huge for me. In fact, it took the DX 200 from OK to at least tied for the best sounding DAP I have ever owned.

You have to give it time as with ANY amp. The sound will definitely improve. Look at how many people on here are ridiculous fans of AMP5...there's obviously something good there. Just give it some time and you'll see.
