DX200 Gold Plated Copper Body has been arrived at Thailand Distributor shop. It is a not for sale unit. I believe it is a special gift to VIP distributor.

I plan to go audition it this evening. Not sure if I can give a good impression note or not. But you can stay tuned if you wanted.

Just a sample pic.

For the sound, I will describe when I go back home.

I think it is worth to mention: it weighs almost 500 grams (mine is 498 including microSD)!

Meanwhile...

It benefits from its better power supply. A switch from my old DX200+AMP3 to DX200Cu+AMP1Cu didn't disappoint me, and does not drive me to return back. It has fuller, deeper, more detailed bass, and very impressive, solid soundstage. Its sound has a good synergy with vinyl rips, which I mostly listen. I never tried single ended output though.

If it was magnesium alloy, I'd won't be in doubt for everyday use :)

I had the same impression when I tried it at the CanJam NY, do you know what's been changed internally?

@Lurker0

You just described what I have already in my mind!

Yes deeper stage and layering is the first impression. Then I notice a bigger body of notes, strings and especially vocal. Last thing is super expansive soundstage. OMG. I wouldn't want to be this hype. But I can't help!

So overwhelming like being in heaven.

This is really a first brick ever that makes me feel that if the price has no sky limit, the sound quality will be limitless and wonderful and actually jaw dropping than any other portable device. Paul's slogan "Enjoy the music" is just REAL.

Big claps to all iBasso Crews.

Bootloading screen is changed to be a thicker, 3D logo.

You have to give it time as with ANY amp. The sound will definitely improve. Look at how many people on here are ridiculous fans of AMP5...there's obviously something good there. Just give it some time and you'll see.
I know, I was comparing it to AMP2 with My Audeze LCD-2's and LCD-XC's. Listening now with Sony IEM XBA-40's, very open and holographic. TBH I was expecting the Holy Grail with my Planar's, I'll give it some time.

Thanks for these pics, not to mention torturing me with descriptions of a sound signature that I can't have
I wanted to ask something about the photos; it looks like it's quite a glittery 'bling-bling' gold on the front (screen) side and the volume wheel.
But the reverse side seems to be a bit more dull (in a very good way!), with a gorgeous kind of patina.
Is it just the angles and light? Or which side would you say is more representative? :)

That's porn.
I've yet to find a time to make the real porn: disassemble and take pics, to compare with the generic device...

 I don't like to describe sound by words, but with DX200Cu it is too obvious.

Right out of the box, the color is uniform. Then fingers make their dirty job. Looking how my device is evolving, I was thinking that I don't take enough care (no case, don't wash my hands before touching etc), but, thanks to @artpiggo pics, I understand this is its destiny. C'mon, it's a DAP, all in all, to listen, not to admire! :)
