I've had some problems with USB DAC in my previous firmware builds, but this time it should work exactly as in the previous release! I just had attached my DX200 to PC and I'm listening music via it right now. I don't know what can be wrong at our side.
My Sandisk 256GB SD card stores around 23900 songs which I collect in last decade, I am not sure it is related to huge amount of songs or what. File scanning are always fine with other 3rd party player just like Poweramp and Neutron and even stock player from my LG V30. My other DAPs just like Sony ZX300 and xDuoo X10 have no problem at all too. Crash only occured in previous version of Mango player in both Android and Mango mode. It is great that it doesn’t crash in the latest one.
We have 1000s that have gone with the DX200 that are working normally. We did see that there was a problem with some with the connection internally coming apart but not shorting. The cable would charge but not work to transfer information. For this reason we have changed manufacture.
Does anyone has issue in usb-dac mode, whereby the sound quality degrade with the newest stock rom? it sounds very flat and condensed. DAP mode sounds excellent of course. Only when it is used as USB-DAC mode.
Believe me or not, but many past firmware updates change nothing regarding USB DAC mode quality. Moreover, USB DAC mode is handled by XMOS chip alone, the SoC and Android are not involved at all.
