Got my AMP2 and AMP3 modules recently. Currently running the AMP2 module and liking it a lot so far. Will try AMP3 after that.

Quite a leap from the stock AMP1 unit to my ears. I don't know what magic IBasso have put into these little amp units, but colour me impressed.

What sort of improvements are you hearing? Ive read content and experiences from head-fiers in this thread but was wondering your experiences. (talking about the AMP2 vs AMP1 btw).

I have been using the Sony XBA-Z5 IEMs for a few years and very much enjoy the sound. Prior to the DX-200, I was using the AR-M2. It drove these IEMs very well and provided strong, deep and well controlled bass as well as clear and well defined mids and highs. When I got the DX-200 with AMP1, I was a bit disappointed that the bass was not as deep or well controlled as with the AR. I just got AMP5 and now I think the DX-200 matches the AR.

The AR is a fine DAP, but the firmware support is lacking. It took over 2 years from initial introduction to the point when AR finally released decent player software that actually allowed you to scroll through by artist name and then select an album by the selected artist. With AMP5 I now feel that I have equal or better sound quality and far superior support.

Also, before anyone suggests that I try balanced cables and AMP3 or 4, please note that I use my IEMs for air travel and frequently plug them into my computer or airplane audio systems to watch movies. I don't want to switch back and forth between SE and balanced cables. Thus, AMP5 with its superior SE sound quality is the best solution for me.

The CB02 2.5mm to 4.4mm adapter sits very flush at both ends.
(iBasso DX200 and Amp 5 module, and the 2.5mm balanced cable).
Nice, clear, transparent and without coloration.

@Lurker0

thank you for your job, as usual !

Just one question: i've not understood if 2.7.188-L1 is ready or not. I mean I see is downloadable but I've not understood if we have to wait a little bit for a newer version within some days.

thanks
ciao

I ams sure there is a typo on the page and Lurker wanted to say that v2.5.141 L0 an L1 are obsolete.
I was on v2.7.188 L0 for at least 2 weeks and found no issues with it.
I tested v2.7.188 L1 yesterday - works great - jump on it.

Your site says that "2.7.188-L1 and 2.7.188-L0 are obsolete and are kept for historical purpose only".
Sorry for confusion! I've corrected the text. The current one is 2.7.188L1.
I mean I see is downloadable but I've not understood if we have to wait a little bit for a newer version within some days.
For now, I have no a reason to make a version newer than 2.7.188L1 in near future.

The first boot takes around 6 minutes. At least you have a progress indicator, not just black screen with dots
