For those with some soldering skills and you have the AMP4s, resolver the power cap. Get rid of all the solder on the pads and cap (the one large electrolytic cap) and use a favorite solder. A sound improvement! I use Cardas Quad Eutectic. Bright at first and then as it burns in, totally different sound IMO. Very clean, dynamic and detailed and focussed.

Willing to perform the surgery on mine? I'm curious...PM me if we can work out a deal

Are any pictures of the mod available?

Need some help, team.

When I connect my DX200 to my PC, and switch to File Transfer mode from the DAP, I can browse the folders of internal storage, but I can't see any of my inside "Music". The DX200 sees all my files and happily plays them, but my PC does not.

It sees everything on my SD card just fine.

Any trips? I'm hoping to avoid restoring system defaults and losing all my songs. It's such a hassle to put them all on there again.

Maybe you can try to see if the files had been accidentally “Hidden”.

Try go the “View” then click to see “hidden” files.

Looks like the AMP4s was a flop, with almost everyone preferring the AMP4. Hope the AMP8 doesn’t end up the same way. Wondered why iBasso decided to release a redesigned AMP4s when the original AMP4 was considered one of the best for DX200

Nope, not everyone, I prefer amp4S to run my HD800s, and I did sell my Amp4

Personally I wouldn't consider it a flop at all, I still love my 4S. I just can't justify keeping 2 different AMPs, and I know the 4S is still highly sought after so why not shift it along and let someone else enjoy it who wasn't able to get their hands on one.

Not sure how many people with Amp4s only, have sold it !! Certainly not selling mine as it’s not a flop to my ears. Missed out on Amp4, so can’t say which I prefer. I loved Amp3 and am even happier with Amp4s.
Looking forward to Amp8 and the next chapter in the DX200 story :smile_phones:

Different people like different sounds. We are still getting requests for AMP4s and for AMP4. I think that many will like AMP8 if you are using 4.4 TRRRS. It does have less play time, around 7.5 hours depending upon load and resolution of the music. AMP8 puts out a lot of power, around 1.2 watts into 32 ohms. We will have it out in 1.5 to 2 weeks.

DX200 Amp1 is lovely with the it01 . I don’t really understand why a lot of people overlook the Amp1 . I think it’s all down to what iem you pair with . Listening with the it01, the sound is not analytical or bright (thin) at all. It’s actually quite musical to my ears . Guys , Amp1 is no slouch.
