Agreed. I'm using the CA02 now with the AMP4s and it's perfectly fine as long as I'm sitting at the desk. For portable use though it's a bit cumbersome due to the way it sticks out. It's definitely more solid than 2.5mm but still risky. If the IT04 end up being as good as I hope they are, I'm going to see about terminating to 4.4mm and finalizing my commitment.
With my case I really like the SQ of Triton Audio adapter 4.4 male to 2.5 female using with Ares II and CIEMs Spartan IV more than 4.4mm PW Audio #5 and JH Audio Angie II.
Almost all my cables are 2.5 terminations and I have different source inputs (mojo/hugo:3.5, DX200:2.5/4.4). I found that 2.5 terminations allow me to have more flexible options than 3.5 or 4.4 as most adapters are 2.5-->3.5/4.4 .
For those with some soldering skills and you have the AMP4s, resolver the power cap. Get rid of all the solder on the pads and cap (the one large electrolytic cap) and use a favorite solder. A sound improvement! I use Cardas Quad Eutectic. Bright at first and then as it burns in, totally different sound IMO. Very clean, dynamic and detailed and focussed.
I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts. I was thinking I might need to try and chase down an AMP4 myself, but now that the AMP8 should be on the horizon soon, I'm not so sure. Lots of options!
When I connect my DX200 to my PC, and switch to File Transfer mode from the DAP, I can browse the folders of internal storage, but I can't see any of my inside "Music". The DX200 sees all my files and happily plays them, but my PC does not.
It sees everything on my SD card just fine.
Any trips? I'm hoping to avoid restoring system defaults and losing all my songs. It's such a hassle to put them all on there again.
