I am repeating myself but....

The one other thing that makes me love DX200 a lot more is the Coax Out capability, which the SP1000 doesn’t have. The DX200 can be used as USB digital out transport, or dedicated Coax out. I have came only 2 kind of portable players that can be sophisticated digital transport: Walkman, and Dx200. The Dx200 does Coax out Native DSD too ! This player is all short of amazing

Been using iBasso DX90 and Fiio X5, for years to Mojo, Hugo 1 and Hugo 2 via Coax Out.

Been with iBasso since the venerable DX100...the DAP that started all this hi-res portable music. Always been more than happy with their products!

I started my ibasso journey with dx50. Later upgraded to dx90 and stayed with it for 3 years before dx200 was released. What I wanted to mention is that... I bought the 90 and 200 with no audition and so far they are my best buy. Keep it up ibasso!!!

I started with DX50 (paired with Boomslang and PB2) then sold it to switch to Fiio-X5 then X5iii before finally getting DX200.

I started with the 50 also, got sick and tired of my phones memory filling up. Was going to get an iPod classic as they had a bigger memory, only to find out Apple in their wisdom had stopped producing them. The reason....apparently the materials they use to build it are no longer available!!!
That’s how I discovered DAPs, 50,80,90 then the 200 and now my finger is hovering over the button for the 150. I don’t need it, but this hobby is crazy addictive.
The one card slot in the 200 is fine for me, every time my card is almost full, sandisk release a bigger one.
So, a big thanks to Apple, without them I would never have discovered this wonderful world of Audiophilia :smile_phones:
One more thing about the DX200, if any of you think it’s slow/laggy, you try using my iPhone 6+, this thing is s..t and slow/laggy doesn’t even come close. When I have a new phone(which won’t be an iPhone) I’m going to nail this one to a tree:ksc75smile: and then my Android journey will begin.
Ibasso are a company heading in a very positive direction and I don’t mind coming along for the ride:L3000:

I've tried combing the thread but haven't found a simple answer, so: what are the advantages of the lurker firmware mod?

I guess the most important question is: does it improve (or modify) sound quality?

Many of us have found the sound quality to be improved with lurkers mod. Also improved our controls, navigation, UI, and processing.

This is mentioned throughout this thread by many users over the last six months. Lockers mods have been implemented into most of the DX line.

SQ would be very subjective, Objective is google play store support and many good functions.

No sound improvements, but QoL improvements:
Google Play Store, working DAC, write to mSD, Super User, SD access for PC in mango OS and a lot of smaller options to choose from.
https://github.com/Lurker00/DX200-firmware/blob/master/README.md#changes-made

This is not true to my ears since I have been installed Lurker mod twice (one for defective DX200 with ghost swipe problem and for the new DX200 recently) the SQ is improving as day and night to me...

Without the Lurker FW you can only upload the musics via SD card and transfer to Mango OS which is good enough but less favorable then with Lurker mod installed...

Placebo.

And which changelog point would that be?

I find it curious about those who say they hear a difference in SQ with Lurker's firmware as he himself has posted that he has made no changes to improve or affect the SQ. At least from what I read a while back... unless something has changed his mods are based solely on improving functionality.
