Some people also asked me about making Google services working with DX200 Oreo ROM. I'd like to make it clear that I have no intention to add Google Play Services support in my ROM.

Back then I wasn't informed about the situation but now it's made clear that Google explicitly prevents unauthorized devices to use it. Though I'll miss YouTube app in new DX200 but I don't want to turn my work into a pirated ROM.

But Cayin/Fiio/Hiby did. It's understandable why iBasso as they already invested a lot on hardware and their own software development.

I know, I tried to pick up my Amp 8 there when I was in Largs, but it hadn’t arrived yet and they said they haven’t got a shop. But your a local dude, ring em up, they’re nice people. Don’t think you’ll get one much cheaper yet, still quite a new product. Good luck in your search, hope you find a good deal soon

Yeah, a full wipe is clearing cache, data, etc.. essentially a factory reset

I thought a factory reset would not wipe out the Lurker FW version. I did it last time before sending my DX200TI to ibasso for repairing.

Yes thats true, because a full wipe doesn't wipe out the current rom that is installed. But if u installed a new ROM, like Oreo it is a different story. A full wipe or factory reset will clear all those nasty things that doesnt play well or incompatible with the new ROM

It is so complicated. That is why I just wait a stable official FW update available.
