Gayron, Gayron, Gayron where's your commitment? Once you get the DX200 set it for burning in and read the thread, eat, and sleep by the time your done reading all 1028 pages your unit will be nicely burned in. Two birds with one stone.

Unless anyone knows different there is no danger in leaving it running non-stop. I always have done that with every piece I've bought including the DX200. The only annoyance is that I can hear the tiny sound from the headphones constantly playing somewhere in the house. So I have to find.a closet or muffle it with towels. IBasso have been kind enough to inlclude a little cable that mimics the impedance of a headphone so you can just plug it in and leave it silent.

As for the Amp4 you can comfort yourself that it's not just your area, it's not available at all. More importantly, the general consensus among the 1028 pages is that though the Amp4 is fantastic, the Amp8 has surpassed it in most ways including soundstage. Make sure you have a 4.4 plug or CA02 adapter though if you get it.

Thank you so much for this thorough reply, I actually feel physically better after reading it  I will get Amp8 then and not gonna worry my head any more. I actually read this thread with a great commitment, only it's so opinion-heavy that it's hard to pick the right one :grimacing:

It can do.
Depending on the situation.

Er... what do you mean on ‘situation’ ? I have a Opus, about 8hrs batt life and gets real hot after a while of use... but how’s the DX200 ?
If you charge and play at the same time the unit get really warm . Also if you’re playing higher resolution files like DSD etc .it can warm up the unit .

a question?
Ah gotcha. I haven't listened to the Hugo2 so can't make a direct comparison. I'll leave that to others that have listened to both.

You can't go wrong with the DX200 though. Here are a couple of things I like about the DX200....

1) It's an all in one unit. You don't have to carry around a source too. No rubber bands either.

2) You can listen to tidal on the go.

3) You can change the sound with the many AMP modules.

4) the DX200 will drive just about any headphone with the right AMP module.

5) It's very affordable

the ibasso dx200 amp8 is as good as the chord hugo 2

Hugo 2’s potential has just gone up a level with matching m-scaler I’ve just been with.
BUT, not easily transportable and medium and large units needing two cables joining to keep 768/795 ability.

Dx200 is pretty much unbeatable as said above, as an all-in-one unit.

on the other hand I had the chance to compare it to sp1000 and I find the dx200 with amp8 better
