Dubstep

Not trying to be "that" guy, but the genre of dubstep has become a huge confusing mess. I was listening to Rusko, Skrillex, and Flux Pavillion calling it dubstep, ALL THE WHILE not even knowing that it would be the first glimpse of the start of a new side genre called complextro. It's a matter of personal preference. I feel like these 4 genres though get the MOST mixed up and often used incorrectly. **** even I feel like I get these genres mixed up. I know that labeling things is kind of a buzz kill, but electronic music has become way to confusing for it's own good.

Dubstep
 
Post-Dubstep
 
Electro-House
 
 
Personally I love Post-Dubstep. I definitely prefer it over the alternatives.

Whatever you wanna call it, dubstep is new to me.  And I like it.  I will be getting some more of it, that's for sure.

My current favorite dubstep artist is gotta be zomboy or flux pavilion, coyote kisses aren't bad either.  I usually listen to "melodic" dubstep, not too heavy or glichy.

The way i see it, there is original style UK dubstep from guys like Mala, Loefah, early Skream etc... massive sub bass slugs, extremely minimal, emphasis on space, roots in UK garage etc.. and then there's the horrific US-led chainsaw bass crap of people like Skrillex, Excision, Bar9, etc... it really, really hurts my ears and the whole "out filthing" idea is just really juvenile IMO. Dubstep is just following Jungle before it and it'll continue to branch out even further.

Out filthing? Are you joking? While I'm sure there are people out there who have that stance (I guess we'll call it a stance), you do realize it's possible that people simply like the new electronic styles that are coming out, right? I like Skream, Benga, Loefah, and the a lot of the original UK acts, but I also like the US artists that have emerged.

I was unaware of this thread, so Ill contribute.  There is a huge growing thread for all EDM that I post in as well, check it out if you havent.  A thread for dubstep alone is awesome though.
 
Some genuinely good tunes for your ears.  If you havent heard them, I highly suggest listening
