If the dt990 strap is giving you troubles, don't even think about the K701 strap! While it is considered highly comfortable to many normal-sized head'ed folks, it was no good for me.

And just as an update, I did purchase the dt990's from a fellow Head-Fi'er and Good Lawdz Almighty if these things aren't the most comfortable headphone I've ever put on my dome, even with the big head and the glasses in the equation.

They sound great, too.

I purchased the DT990's a few months ago and the velour pads (and now lambskin pads) are as smooth as silky fluffy pillows on my rather large head.  In terms of overall comfort however my big ears preferred Sennheiser's oval earcups on the HD-555's.
