I have DT770 Pro 80 ohms right now, but they are like 4 years old now, getting to the end of their lifetime, old and rattling (ive cleaned them out, I think the drivers are dieing).

Anyways, I plug them into my PC, through an Asus Xonar Essence STX audio card, which has the option to handle impedences of like 500 ohms (theres 3 different settings, 0-60 ohms, 60-320 ohms, and 320+ ohms). Depending on what setting you use, it pushes more or less power through them, hence I dont need an amp.

Im getting a new pair of them (since ive always loved their sound), and I was wondering, in my situation, would it be wiser to stick with 80 ohms, or maybe go with some 250 ohms?

Speaking of which, how come I cant find the 80 ohms on ebay anymore?

Cant find them anywhere, it seems the only things that exist now are the 250 ohms.

Aside from Germany and Spain.

Yeah, the 80 ohm version is typically the recommended headphone in the 770 Pro lineup, stick with it :)
