I have DT770 Pro 80 ohms right now, but they are like 4 years old now, getting to the end of their lifetime, old and rattling (ive cleaned them out, I think the drivers are dieing).
Anyways, I plug them into my PC, through an Asus Xonar Essence STX audio card, which has the option to handle impedences of like 500 ohms (theres 3 different settings, 0-60 ohms, 60-320 ohms, and 320+ ohms). Depending on what setting you use, it pushes more or less power through them, hence I dont need an amp.
Im getting a new pair of them (since ive always loved their sound), and I was wondering, in my situation, would it be wiser to stick with 80 ohms, or maybe go with some 250 ohms?
