So I just had an unfortunate accident.  A friend just slipped and fell with my DT-770 80ohm set in his hands, and they flew against the wall and snapped the plastic housing that holds the metal frame in place for both cans.  I am not sure if the speakers are OK but I have o way to hold them against my head beause they won't stay put.

I was wondering - is it worth it to try to get them repaired or should I just buy new phones, and if so what should I get in the same price range?  Anything better or just get another pair of DT-770s.

I spend most of my time gaming, watching movies, and listening to music, but I also do sound mixing for animated films.

Not sure what Your 770's go for, take a look at Fischer Audio FA003's and the Shure SRH840's. I don't You'd go wrong either way You go.

the 840 is a downgrade from the dt770 in my opinion :\

you might want to look into the DBI pro 705 with dt770/880 velors, might be the best $80 you ever spend

So it's a tossup between DBI pro 705, PC360, Fischer FA-011, Superlux, and the A700, or just getitng antoher set of DT-770s.

Suggestions?  I couldn't find the cost on sets like the A700 or the FA-011.  What is the difference in prices?

I can concur that the V6/7506 have sharp highs, so sharp in fact that I'm pretty sure I am now deaf at Fqs greater thank 18k because of them. My sister tried them on for the first time and afterwards she said her ears were ringing.
