Can you offer me specifics about installing the appropriate usb dac drivers for windows 10? I have the X5.  Where can I download it and any useful instructions on getting it installed and working first go. Thank you in advance.

Here is the details of instruction -

Earlier it had been mentioned that some dealers will take a batch of FiiO products and send them to China on behalf of their customers so that the customer does not have to ship individually to China. I opted not to send my X1 in for repair for a relatively minor issue because of the hassle of international shipping. Well, my X1 turned up dead and I will probably buy a replacement -- but anticipating a problem...

can anyone tell me which online dealers will return my unit for service for me, if it should need servicing within the warranty period?

I think the X1 is great when it works, but mine has rarely worked as it should have, though with workarounds it functioned sufficiently until sudden death. I'll give the product one more chance -- the triumph of hope over experience, I guess.

Where did you buy your X1 from? Only your seller or their upstream distributor may offer to send in your X1 to FiiO for you.

I'm not interested in sending in my current X1. I'm giving that up for a loss. But when I buy a new one, from which sellers or distributors can I expect the courtesy of sending in my unit for me, if I have a problem? (And judging from my first X1, I think a problem is not unlikely. :p) I thought my question was clear before. I hope this clarifies it thoroughly.

I hope you will get an answer from a current official but my understanding from when I was working for FiiO was that you'd want to buy from a retailer who sources its FiiOs from the largest distributor / sole distributor in the region. As shipping your X1 in along with other RMA units to China repair depends on there being other RMA units to be shipped in in the first place, you want to be under a large distributor who does regular business with FiiO.

Which country are you in?

I am in USA. Ready to order a new FiiO X1, but would like to be sure I can get some service after the sale if needed. The instructions for return to China seemed needlessly expensive and inconvenient. What is the defective rate on these units. Mine developed a serious defect with the wheel about 2 or 3 months in. Totally died about 18 months after purchase, using only about 1 hour/day. Not encouraging.

My X5 has been having the famous wheel problem for quite some time, now it's getting worse to an extend that I don't even want to use it anymore (wrong direction when turning the wheel, sometimes stuck, sometimes jump too fast, sometimes hard to stay on the item to be selected...). I wonder if there is any DIY tips to fix this myself or I have to send it back for repair? I'm in Singapore BTW.

Thanks for your help.

I just bough the K5 amp to use with my X3 gen ii.  It's a bit of a challenge to get the X3 connected on the K5.  I'm afraid that I might break K5 connector.  I would like to use the usb port on the back of the K5 to hook up the X3.  I tried using a OTG cable, but it didn't work.  Does anyone know what cable will work?

Thanks

Hi, topohiker.

We will make the specialized cable(11-pin USB cable) to connect the USB port on the back of the K5 with the X3II. But pls note that, when using that 11-pin usb cable, the X3II just can work as a music player, but not a DAC. That is to say, the function of that cable it not completely same as the K5's dock connector.

Hi, i'm having issues using my X3ii as a usb DAC since the generic driver came out.
Simply, the computer won't install the drivers properly. I've reinstalled the drivers 3 times, even redownloading the installer to make sure it wasn't corrupted, yet my PC keeps telling me that it can't verify the driver's signature (i've made sure to disable the driver signature verification all 3 times), possibily because the driver is corrupted or not genuine.
And in fact, when i connect the X3ii in usb DAC mode, it won't be dected either by the Fiio control panel or the OS audio devices control panel.
I'm running win 7 64bit, and i've installed the latest firmware on the X3ii.

Please bring that cable ASAP - Don't wait up for 2017 as your 10th Anniversary - I'm sure you have plenty of exciting product to release by then.

Many people already in Line to grab it....also make it a little bit lengthy like L21.

Hi, Coldhear29.

Since you are running Windows 7 64bit, you may need to
firstly disable the driver signature enforcement before the installation.
Here is the instruction to guide how to do it: click here
Hope that helps.
