Hopefully there will at some point be the option to be able to scan the OTG media to library. I have mentioned this a few times. It is a great feature of the x3 2nd gen, the USB OTG. Just wish it was integrated into the library.

Hopefully you guys are looking into this. Thanks Joe.

Yes please I want this too. Just give us a second option to scan OTG in the menus !

Maybe someone found the fix for this

Ok I've just got an X5 gen 1 and I'm having some issue with the cue sheet functions. One it does not seem to work with mp3s that being if the album is in .mp3 it says it can't find the file from the .cue. Two when the cue sheet splits a mega/nonstop mix into it's tracks there is a slight gap between each track even with gapless play back on.

I'm hoping you can help me determine what is the issue with my Fiio X1 I recently bought.

I have a Samsung 64GB card, which I have formatted in the player itself three times now. I can transfer files, but some transfer and some do not. I keep getting the error message below. You can see, along with the message, that all the folders transferred to the X1 but not all the music files did. I have checked, and I am running the 1.4 operating system.

Did I get a bad card? Or is something else going amiss?

Please help. I'm taking a road trip Monday and need my music.

I am having a problem with my E-12 (original version).  It was working fine then suddenly the volume knob got very hard to turn.  It still works and sounds great aside from this.  Is there a DIY fix I can do?
Thanks !
Eric

Hello Eric,
Sounds like some rubber ring came loose inside the pot. Since these pots are sealed units though the best solution would be to desolder the pot and solder a new one in. Would your DIY skills be up for that? :o

In other news, I sent my reply to Boothillier (sorry for the late reply). This thread is meant to remind people that you can message ("PM") me directly to get prompt attention... posts to this thread itself aren't as closely monitored. :o

Hello Tzar,

If you're not in India, please contact support@fiio.net directly regarding warranty repairs. :)

Best regards,
Joe

edit: Just remembered you from the X3 world tour--if you *are* in India, you should in principle be able to arrange warranty repairs through your local dealer, *if* that's an official dealer. You may give them a ring to see if they would handle repair / replacement, or, more likely, tell you who their Indian distributor is, who should handle repair / replacement.

I am fair at soldering :).  As long as we aren't talking about surface mounts, I can do it.  Where do I get the replacement pot?

Thank you very much,
Eric

Please contact support@fiio.net detailing your issue and tell them you would like to receive a replacement volume knob and pot for DIY repair, and they should sort you out :)

Hi, my name is Omar Castillo and I've had a Fiio X1 for two months now, everything was ok, until tonight when I tried to put some new music on it, something happened. The thing is I put the music (mp3, flac or anything) on the micro sd card (an 128 gb one), I put it in the Fiio, I refresh the library and when I try to see the files under artists or albums, it doesn't appear. And if I search them under carpets, it does appear. But when I try to open them, the screen gets filled with letters and numbers (you can see it in the photo on the link) and it gets stucked. I can't turn it off or anything. I have to reset it. And when I put the micro sd card on the computer again, the carpet of the music I just put is still there but without songs, they get deleted somehow. But it is strange because this only happens with the new music I try to put on the Fiio, the music I already had plays well as always. Does anybody know what can the problem be? I was very happy with my Fiio, please help me.

Cross-posted from the X3 thread, if this is not the right one for problems, I apologize -

"My $0.02 is this -

I loved the unit when I purchased it, still do. But there are some serious issues that have never been rectified - cropped album art (which was sized properly in the initial firmware), incorrect genre tagging for AAC and ALAC files, gapless problems on larger files, etc. I'm not trying to sound picayune, but these were features FiiO advertised that the X3 would perform. None of these work properly, and that's not right. I really don't mean to sound harsh, but if this is going to be the last firmware for the original X3 without further support, then I'm sorry, FiiO, I will no longer be purchasing your products.
Again, I am not asking for new features to be implemented, I just want what was advertised to work properly. And please don't tell me this is a small company, and they're doing the best they can. If you sell a product with advertised features, and said features do not work properly, then perhaps you should not be selling them to the market at large. I paid my money with certain things expected, and have been very patient, but two years on and still having issues is unacceptable, while they continue to roll out new products.
In short, not very good business practice. I know there are quite a few younger people on this forum that seem to put up with it and hope for the best, but as for me, I need to see this done right. I'm all ears (no pun intended), FiiO...what is your response?

Thanks,
Christian"
