Ok, i won't be shy. I bought my E11k headphone amp from Headroom in early January. All was well until yesterday, when the right channel cut out. By manipulating the headphone jack of my headphones I can hear individually each channel, but I can't get both channels at once.

What do I do? It is past Headroom's 30 day return policy.

Thanks for being in the forums.

Could be a bad contact between your headphones and the amp and / or bad contact between the amp and the player? Have you tried other headphones and / or line in cables?

Hi,
I have some question but first things first:

My X1 had a faulty scroll wheel so I've contacted with my local seller to resolve this problem.
They ordered me to send my faulty unit to the service(they have their own service)... so I did.
After couple of days X1 have returned to me and here the story begins:

It seems that I have received new unit - different serial number than on the original packaging and on old DAP, absolutely no signs of usage, etc. Nothing wrong with that(I'm glad) but they claim that the unit was repaired not replaced - they say that they've replaced housing, mainboard and scroll wheel, leaving battery and screen...

So my question(s) is(are):

Is this possible? Is Fiio providing such amount/variety of spare parts for their sellers/distributors?
Should I get full warranty if received unit is new, not repaired like they are saying?

Joe has been on the ball listening to my complaint, getting the information, and making stuff happen.

I am very happy with his help as a customer rep.  I wish we could clone him.  Alot of other companies could use someone like him.

Hey Joe Bloggs,  please help.  I literally just received my new if x5 from amazon and while trying to update something when terribly wrong.  I followed the steps and I updated the system.  The update screen said that the process was successful, but then the screen turned gray and froze.  Then I shut it down and restarted and it sent me to the welcome screen, then about three seconds later the screen dimmed a little then froze again.  This now happens every time I power it on.  It shows me the welcome then freezes I tried resetting and shutting down countless times I deleted the update data off the card and tried redownloading and reinstalling and it didn't recognize any update data.  It broke my heart because I really enjoyed it up to that point and it took all my savings to buy.  I really need help fixing this!

Hello Francisco,

What was the firmware you updated to and where may it be found (URL)?

Best regards,
Joe

the specific firmwares are  x5 fw2, x5 fw2-2, x5 fw2-3, x5 fw2-4,x5-2, x5fw1.10,  I tried to update the system to the latest by doing all the previous updates.

Will the warranty fix this if push comes to shove?  I didn't abuse or try to unofficially modify.  It came straight off the if official site .

Hello Francisco,

You could have updated directly to the latest actually. Sorry we weren't clear about this. :xf_eek:

Do you remember which version you flashed onto the X5 before this happened?

Could you try flashing the latest FW2.5 to it now?

And yes, of course you're covered by the warranty :)

Best regards,
Joe
