I am pretty shallow, and want a watch that will get noticed.

The green milgauss, SS Daytona and Sub Date are my favorite. The GV makes me smiles every time I see the green tint, fun. SS daytona is the Rolex legend that I wear on the weekends and the sub for washing my car to swimming and shower ......

What is it? Unless it has about $2,500 in gold in it, then yes, you are nuts. No quartz is worth that.

Go pick up a used IWC, Zenith, Audemars Piget, Vacheron Constantin, or any other high grade watch for $3,000. Those will hold value and possibly appreciate.

Either that or track down a nice Sinn, Omega, Fortis, etc. for a hell of a lot less.

Without precious metals or gemstones, no one will give you anything close to $3,000 on the used market. In a few years, it'll be worth $500 or $600. Spending $1,000 on a nice Omega Constellation pie pan, for example, might get you $1,200 or $1,300 a few years on.

I don't think collectors will ever take quartz seriously.

Some famous people wearing those three Rolex .... those three watch are tool watch, I wonder how many of them know what there are wearing.

There is a hype for female wear male Rolex pro watches ...

Buying the right watch might be a good investment like the paul newman dayton is about 40k to 70k used and the old milguass is about 40k used.

When the Green Milgauss released people are buying it at 16k on ebay, 9.5K over MSRP ... the prices have drop to MSRP now. With the current economy
even the rolex rarest SS Daytona are possible to find at AD and get at MSRP now.

Rolex collectible are not expensive compare to patek philippe and many others

i see many people in that photo mosaic that can afford a rolex, but few that can appriciate the engnieering in it,

maybe thats why given the choice, maybe a zenith would be a more subtle choice,

Attraction works at sub conscious levels....nothing u do will get them to start a conversation with u ..even if u look like Brad Pitt.

My watches are "workin out" for me pretty well, I guess.

I mean, they're usually clean, tell good time, and look half way decent. But then again I don't wear watches in the hopes of attracting chics with them.

He was brutally honest with us in his first post when he stated that he was shallow.
The rest of this thread needs to be responded to, with that taken in mind.

Not a fan of the two tone Daytona, but love the SS one.
