I would be grateful if you guys could share your opinion on whether those Sennheiser headphones seem to be fake or not.

If you're questioning whether they're fake - that's a good sign not to buy. IE80 are one of the most faked earphones circulating around eBay and have been for a long time. So in this case we don't even need to check your photos as you only buy this model from an authorized Sennhieser dealer. I highly recommend not going ahead with the purchase, remove the item from your watch list and never go back, ever.

If you go ahead because curiosity got the better of you and oh that price was too good to refuse then its time to "pay". You will forever wonder "are these fake" with no piece of mind and complete uncertainty. Every now and then people like yourself pop in with similar links (to eBay) asking the same thing, each time this is the story.

It should be sticked to the front page of Headfi, honestly.

Sorry if this was not the appropriate section to post this. I really needed an advice on that so your post was very helpful, thank you.

Any other opinions would be welcome as well.

The truth is these frauds have the outside so down pat it's almost impossible to tell, especially just by looking at photos, even in the flesh people can't pick it. But they can never replicate the sound. They've gotten that good I've read articles where the frauds have actually made online guides showing the genuine IE80 as "fake" and  their copies as the genuine model. Yes, quite confusing.

Sure, see what some others say, until then read here:

I own a pair, don't really know if they are authentic or not. I've had them for a few months now, and these things are awesome. they have a massive soundstage. the bass hits so hard the casings vibrate in your ear. they outperform my aurisonics 1.5's, my vsonic gr-7 BE, my ostry ko6a, my kef m-200, my shure se-215, my sony xb90ex, my havi b3. if they are fakes, their good ones.
