Honestly the gap should have been built in... gap vs. no gap sounds like 2 different level of headphones...
Is this working for all the Dianas, V2, Phi, TC?Honestly the gap should have been built in... gap vs. no gap sounds like 2 different level of headphones...
Adding the gap will boost the upper sub bass, but you may loose everything under 30hz.Honestly the gap should have been built in... gap vs. no gap sounds like 2 different level of headphones...
The gain is more worth in my eyes - especially for heavy metal like Rammstein, Iron Maiden or Metallica orAdding the gap will boost the upper sub bass, but you may loose everything under 30hz.
Yeah I can imagine this would make kick drums sound so much better. The gain is more worth in my eyes - especially for heavy metal like Rammstein, Iron Maiden or Metallica or

Tested so much and wow!
I used putty clay, not the most precise thing out there. But it’s easy and clean to use and pretty customizable requiring minimal effort.I am going to try porting my DTCs. Would those who have done it successfully be willing to post photos and specify what material you used to create the gap? I'd be very grateful.
I think they (Abyss) don't want it build in. It's to good and would kill the King "1266" - at least in some terms.Honestly the gap should have been built in... gap vs. no gap sounds like 2 different level of headphones...
It won't steal any thunder from the 1266. While it's designed to be bassy, it's also designed to have a huge sound stage that the Diana can't replicate.I think they (Abyss) don't want it build in. It's to good and would kill the King "1266" - at least in some terms.
Even if the 1266 sounds better, Diana is a beautiful lightweight wonder.
The 1266 is a piece of art for me - the designer an artist.
I cannot describe how the bass changes, but I can try.
First, you hear much more bass and you can feel it. In Heavy Metal (Rammstein in my case) I can hear much more separation - almost every beat from the bass instruments. This was not possible before.
Just to be honest, i dont think the stage of 1266 is all the impressive anyways. A large number of cans get just as big and many even have better placement. Plus the bass port does increase stage size and depth by a quite a margin. 1266TC has slightly more detail but I honestly feel that DTC with bass port is an objectively better whole package. It won't steal any thunder from the 1266. Not enough power to drive it, got the same underwhelming feeling when i first heard v2/dtc on a med output amp such as hdv, i went and bought myself a powerful tube amp as a last resort and ohh well was I wrong… They truly need power, maybe try something that can hold 6/8+watts at 50 ohm and hear them come to life, unfortunately those don’t come cheap and that’s the real caveat with Abyss, you can’t just get away with any pairing because it’s so dependant with the power you throw at it.Hello folks. Recently got my V2. Have been using Sennheiser hdv820 DAC/amp combo, I am not getting the same wow factor I get with my lcdx resolution, bass etc. Plus the amp struggles to drive it I feel. Has anyone else got the same impression?
What's the best amp to drive this headphones?
Any help will be appreciated.
