Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

Diana will be available in September. Abyss dealers are taking preorders and reserving colors.

Thousands of hours in design before the first prototype was assembled, and another year of refinement to get to this point. In the end, she's worth it!

Great work Joe!!

Skip the paint on one of the edition's, and just clear coat them, and then add dark grey-black alcantara for the ear-pads and the inner headband would look very cool.

iPhone does not have enough output. She really requires a portable player that can play with decent power levels, say 250 mW+, or a headphone amp.

Considering they are portable-friendly, do they leak a lot of sound? Can they be used in office environments?

Never mind. According to this article, " they leak sound profusely". I'm out.

Would Chord Mojo be enough?

Mojo would be good for most music so long as you're not looking to play EDM or in a loud environment. In a home setting she plays well out of a Macbook pro.

Hey I'm pretty keen to hear it! - I think people who are reading about this for the first time might think that "portable" automatically means closed.

I think that guy was a tool for writing a review on a high end audio product but ignores the sound. What a waste of time.

The things that people complained about with the Abyss 1266 were: high price, heavy and weird looking. These are (I'm hoping) similar sounding to the abyss, but: cheaper, lighter, and more "normal" looking. Seems like it addresses everything that people didn't like about the 1266 so I'm surprised there's not more interest. Maybe there will be more when they get out there on the market.

Is the release still on track for September?

Perhaps he felt that the looks, comfort, leaky sound and weight had already made it a fail for the $3000 asking price, so sound was now irrelevant. It's not, but I understand why he basically gave up on them.

On the low level of apparent interest, $3000 is a lot of money for something that looks rather insubstantial. Can a pair of drivers really be worth $2975? Might be more interest if it was $500...if it's target is the portable crowd.
