DTR1+ is a monster! Drive all my IEM well, Even this DIY headphone! The vocal is very emotional, it is better than HD650. It's my third DAP, it is better than wm1a and M15.
Hardcore gear!

Been listening and loving this DTR1+ for the past 3 weeks. Its crazy SQ with solid engagement factor is driving me nuts when pairing and rotating with my selection of IMR IEMs.

Definition of bass is superb. Midrange and treble equally impressive. To my ears, I feel it required 150hrs of burn in to reach its full potential instead of the 100hrs stated by Anson. But opinions may differs since this is a personal hobby and we tend to hear differently.

I received my DTR1+ back from Anson's distributor here in California. The unit was not powering on. The issue was software related. It's working great again and I am enjoying the player . Thanks to Anson and Richard for being very responsive in resolving the issue. Great customer service!

I got a Hiby RS6 and made a interesting comparison. The album is < Songs by Placido Domingo>, RS6 balanced out, volume 86, could drive my HD580. DTR1+ , Extra high gain, volume 43, DTR1+ is full of juice, more vivid. The sound of RS6 is soft and a little slowly, so it is more suitable for listening to pop adagio vocals. So Dethonray team did a good job this time!

My unit also on its way to me, the issue was also software related, there was a problem with its lets call BIOS, it just got mad, they solved it and tested my unit for hundred of times and it is alright now. Anson solved in two days or even less as he promissed. Next time maybe I will try to solve the issue myself with Anson's guidance if it arises.

IMO, think I’m addicted to this musical sounding DAP. Prefer it to my Ibasso 2MAX as it delivers plenty of soul to the music I listened to- was on John Mayall albums and the way this DAP along my IMR Bass Cannon executed those notes and flow of the music were pure bluesy sonic brew.

Did Anson mention the procedure to "revive" the unit was possible to undertake by the end user? My DTR1+ also died in the exact same fashion about 10 days ago, and I would love to not have to send it anywhere if the fix is just some sequence of buttons to press followed by a firmware upgrade or something like that... Emailed Anson and he replied, CC'ing some guy Richard who's supposedly capable of taking care of it but from there the communication died for 5 days so far. Not impressed with such warranty service frankly. That said, the unit -- when it works -- sounds really superb. I, for instance, strongly prefer it to the iBasso DX300 Max that I had this summer for a month.

I had the same problem with my DTR1+. I did a firmware upgrade to 1.2 as Anson had suggested and that seem to solve the problem. However, after a week the problem came back. Anson referred me to Richard in California to inspect the unit. I was also concerned because it took him about a week to run tests to make sure the problem was resolved. I received the unit back from him and it's been working beautifully. I forgot how fantastic it sounded.

I know it's kind of nerve shattering, but please be patient with Richard, he wants to be sure your unit is fixed properly. It's worth the wait.

So how does it sound compared to the $400 more expensive RS6? I would also be curious to hear a comparison to the equally priced iBasso DX240 too if anyone has the deep pockets to try all these :)

No he didn't mention, but I think fixing it on your own would be a quite complex task, it would take much more than pressing a few buttons, so if you have in your country somebody who can fix it then use this opportunity.

Finally got my unit back everything is working great, got 1.2 firmware installed. Also Anson put me a gift which is a case for it, that older one originally made for DTR1, at first it was tight and I had to push the player pretty hard and could not close the lid properly but now it wore out and everything is fine. At first this case looked strange to me with that lid but now I actually kind of like it, the lid protects the screen so you don't need to install any protection for it, also when you open the lid you can appreciate the design of the player since it partially covered, also the volume and power buttons are easily accessible. The case is nicely made and feels premium, in real life it looks and feels much nicer than in pictures, the only downside that memory card is not accessible and you have to take the player out, but otherwise it is actually great and you feel that your device is protected, no need to worry about the screen. So thank you Anson for a pleasant gift!
