I made a mistake and dropped my DTR on the floor and the headphone jack came loose intenally, likely the soldering came loose on the cicuit board.

Anybody know how to brake in to the DTR so that I can get a repair done locally? Dethonray hasn´t answered any request for repair or help despite many tries. My guees is to somehow get the back off but its very firmly attached.

cheers

The rear face can be pry'd off gently and then there are 4 screws at the corners that hold the front face on. Once those are removed the front face slides upward about 1/4 inch then can be lifted off.

Does the DTR1 performs nicely with metal, rock and instrumental genres?

I listen to metal/rock and I really like DTR1, but if you are a fan of the wide scene then this player is not for you

No, the back glass wont budge at all - the glue must be good. Cant get a knife in between the glass and the metal. Seems like a dead end.

Can I just crack the glass?

the front part should be removed where the buttons and the screen, it seems to me

Thanks. What do you mean with "wide scene"?

DTR1 has a narrow sound stage that sounds like a room, while there are other players where the stage is large like a concert hall or stadium.

Ok. Maybe the new version has a different sound signature. Which DAP would you recommend?

If you want the same emotional presentation as in DTR1, but at a higher sound level, then you should listen to these players in the audio store: Lotoo PAW Gold, Shanling M8, Cayin N6ii.
