At this point it's still unclear how good sound isolation(if any) on AH-D600 is, right?

Someone that owns either the D600 or D7100, create an appreciation thread!

Don't own them - but I created it.

Technically $400 x 0.64 SHOULD cost £260

Please do not leave out the fact that any EU comparison needs to take VAT into account.

$400 USD = £310 with 20% VAT

And comparing single EU country prices is like comparing what things cost in some specific US state. Pointless really.

(Anyway nothing in the Amazons is in stock anyway, prices always fluctuate there yadda yadda..)

(And since the more standard non-offer price seems to be $499, I don't see why the big fuzz)

Depends on what they think "flat" means. Despite popular opinion, the D5000s measure more evenly than most would imagine.

add some JMoney pads and they get downright level.

Oh, but that channel split looks ugly...
I do hope that there isn't as much bloat on the 7100 and that it extends better...Maybe some better engineering...?

Frequency graph is only half of the story.  You have to look into waterfall plots to find decay times or ringing, and overall non-linear distortion to see if certain frequencies are louder/muddier than others.  Also, Straight flat on a frequency graph isn't the same as speaker flat.

That's what I'm saying. Who really knows what they mean by 'flat"?

It's the JMoneys, they're really freaky about seal with the D5000s. As for extension, they're great down to 20Hz, not many other dynamics can do that.

As I am looking for the best possible portable, or even semi-portable can, I am really looking forward to a comparison between the AH-D7100 and Ultrasone Signature Pro.  I am also wondering if the AH-D7100 is worth the HUGE price gap over the AH-D600, particularly for portable listening.  If the D7100 is THAT good and the D600 can get me 85% of the way there, I will save the $600-$700.

After reading initial reviews of the Music Maniac line, I think the PSB M4U2 is now out of the running.
