I'm listening to the MM400s right now. You'll be hard-pressed to find any cans better than these when listening at lower volumes. Very lush, relaxing, and intimate. I prefer pumping up the volume though for a live performance feel.

So weird, there is a new headphone on the horizon. Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Headphones. Apparently is a collaboration between Will from Massdrop and Fostex. And the driver has similarities with Fostex much more expensive models but more balanced, and the cups are made of mahogany. It is crazy, more than 1400 units purchased the first day of the drop. Look at the Jude's description/review on Head-fi TV, Also, there are 3 more reviews about them and at the price point of $399 they look like a giant killer and might give MM400 run for their money. Also I wonder in any of you tried the Grace Design Massdrop DAC/AMP and do you think it would be a good combo with the Denons?

I was at Massdrop meet invite where they unveiled the TH-X00.  Had a listen with them, and i think for the price it's a good bang, but it is anything but portable.  It's also quite tamed and good all around, but lacks the energy the mm400 has and again, not portable despite being quite light on the hand.  my $0.02
