Following @Malevolent recomendations, almost all the days I use the AH-D9200s, after use them, I clean the headband and earpads first with a baby towel (the ones I use with my little daughter, with no alcohol) and afterthat, I use a kleenex to remove the wet from the earpads and the headband. He told me that he does that with all his headphones, and he has many

It's a little cumbersome, but I hope my headphones won't peel with time.

FWIW, my anecdote on previous page was w/ non-alcoholic wipes (which I used only once). I imagine this is why manufacturers seem to usually recommend just dry wiping products with non-scratching soft or microfibre cloth- at the most mild soap & water on certain surfaces (maybe the baby wipes you use fit this description, IDK). Occasional leather conditioning like other comments mention seems relatively safe too (though would be very careful to avoid getting any into foam padding)

Perhaps just a gentle quick wipedown works well, though IMO daily cleaning seems like it might cause more wear than actually using the headphones (although maybe in the case of certain skin sensitivities or hair product use this is unavoidable).

@XERO1 I think that would be interesting to have this info (AH-D9200 development process) available at the first post of this thread. I was looking for it to share in another thread and luckily I found in page 131 (I was so lucky, because I started at 130 just to browse and see if I could find it).

If you can add this link to the initial post, will be helpful. Thanks a lot:

Wow you guys clean a lot.
Sadly, yes. I have a bit of an OCD - my gear must be kept clean at all times. Hence, after each and every use, I wipe and clean my stuff. This includes my DAPs, cables, and headphones. It's time-consuming, but my gear remains in tip-top shape. :)

I am the same. I spend a few minutes after each use cleaning/wiping off (dry soft micro fiber cloth, no chemicals) my audio gear/all electronic devices.

Hi guys (and girls)!
I read the entire thread, very interesting and contradictory!
Has anyone compared the AH-D9200 to Mrspekers Ether (open or closed)?
Dont think theres a gear everybody agrees at the same time. Many here focusing more on the chase than the music.

Pretty much except for a couple of outliers the D9200 has been very well received. I recently picked up a TH900 and think these two are more complimentary of each other than they are in competition.

Absolutely. Honestly I am more into headphones than music. If I were really into music I would enjoy almost any headphone. You can almost get any sound signature you want by carefully selecting your tracks or EQ’ing one decent headphone.

I'm curious, has anyone here heard the old Denon line like the D950 and D750?

How do more recent Denons compare to those classics?
I have the D900 from 1989 and the current D7200. The D900 are very nice headphones, confortable (with modern earpads), excellent sound and bass. They were my favourite together with the open back Sennheiser HD599. Nevertheles, since I bought the D7200 I barely use the old ones any more. Sound detail and tuning is much better in the D7200. I have very limited experience but the D7200 are my absolute favorite headphones nowadays and they are incomparably better than the other two. I cannot compare with the 5200 and 9200. I wish I could try them!

Nice .. exactly the same combination I started my DAP adventures with .. Is that an A&K SR15 -> Meze 99 OFC balanced cable -> AH-D7200? I even had the same red case :)
