To be honest the D7000s don't sound that good at all, It's all hyperbole

The D7000 is my favorite headphone ever, so speak for yourself. We all have different tastes.

Yeah it's a fun phone for electronica, they just aren't very accurate with real instruments.

I'm simply saying that when a headphone is discontinued the demand rises and through that so does it's status. I paid $550 back before they were discontinued and now they're going for $1200 plus.

Maybe for like a NIB deadstock find. I was watching the market pretty closely for a month or so.
Really good well take care of or lightly used sets averaged anywhere from 880-980 ish.
I am sure I did not see each and every auction though.

I found a pair locally that where aesthetically perfect and sounded like I remembered. Box and everything I got them for 840.
With Mint sets going on ebay for 950+ not including shipping, I think I got a good deal and am a happy owner :)

Where did you get them? All the $1200 used ones on Amazon have gone and now the cheapest I can find is $1800 for a scratched up pair. My buddy offered me $1200 for mine but I refused because I don't want to profit from a friend and like you thought he could find them cheaper elsewhere. This was about a month ago now.

They have 3 brand new in stock for 1K. I called them last week to confirm... but then just went with the ebay ones

These prices seem a little silly, tbh. In reality, the new Denons suck ass, but these weren't really Denons, they were Fostex. Fostex's TH600 and TH900 will be discounted soon enough to be reasonable.

I got them from a friend of a friend of a friend, locally. Got lucky I guess.
Just recently there was a guy selling a nice pair on amazon for 980 something he was willing to take 960 I believe, a mint pair sold on ebay last week for 980.
A guy on ebay last week had 2 pairs for 900 and 950. One modded one not modded.

Just be patient, that guy selling a pair for 1800 is absolutely stupid. If someone actually buys though from more than 1k I would laugh at them.
There are people out there not just trying to get stupid money for them like that idiot on ebay.

I believe there are a few for sale on here, there was a real nice set from europe, I mean shipping would suck but maybe you could haggle.

Horrible seller, do a quick search on them and find a few threads with complaints. I would advise anyone to stay away.

I bought those for $650 and they look good to me. I'm getting them tomorrow so I will update then

Funny he listed them as dennon, I bet that helped you get them for that price.
Looks like you might have gotten a steal.

I remember getting real lucky someone selling a real nice phono preamp that was at the time worth a couple grand.
Brand new, they obv were a clueless re-seller and had no idea what it was and it was listed wrong. Got it for 400 bucks brand new.
