Selling a kidney should cover that, a SR-009 rig, a HE-6 rig as well as a bunch of other top level head gear. Apparently a kidney can net you $260k on the US black market. Tempting?

just curious...when did Sennheiser actually sell these and how much were they from the manufacturer?  Are they just marked up to hell.  I mean I've listened to both that and the Stax-009 like I said earlier and honestly for the price difference I'd just buy a couple Stax 009 instead of the Orpheus.

Is it just the aura/reputation that jacks the price through the roof?

1991 and U$16,000. Keep in mind that there were only 300 ever made.

I'm willing to bet Sennheiser will help you out with anything that goes wrong.

Could be an expensive bet

The D7000's I sold to a mate are coming back home for 2 weeks starting February 15th while he's away on vacation.  I haven't listened to them since selling them so I'm anxious to see if they sound just like I remembered.  This time I have the Auditor to test them on as well. Once and for all I'll be able to put the damping questions I've had to rest.

Thinking of ordering a pair of Angle Pads.

I find the stock D7000 pads extremely comfortable, but read that the Angles are a step up. I'm sensitive to clamp, so hope these thicker pads don't add too much clamp to the relaxed D7000 headband.

Also read that the Angles reduce bass a bit (which I would like), bring the mids a bit forward (I'm a mid-head and enjoy as close to neutral mids as possible), and improve highs.

Anyone here using the Angle Pads that could comment on the above and/or how you are enjoying them for a $100 price tag...???

I too hate the clamp. I like the angles pads - there isn't more clamp but there is more surface area. I find the stock pads are convex in front of the ear which results in a smaller contact patch and more pressure. The angle pads are flat and spread it out better.

Sound wise I didn't find much difference - perhaps a tiny bit larger stage.

i found the angle pads slightly improve isolation and soundstage.
plus the feel more comfortable and look better quality than the stock pads.
did not find that they reduced the bass at all, but the music i listen to is not overly bass heavy anyway.
in my opinion they are a good upgrade for the money.

Just moved up from the d2000's which I had and used for a couple years to a very nice used pair of the d7000's. Wow night and day difference, very pleased.
Going to get some angle pads because I prefer that feeling as opposed to stock pads.

Gave my dad my old d2000's and he loves them, but he is coming up from some cheap 10 dollar headphones so that was to be expected.

I find this, too. And while the D7000s are quite comfortable, this is their biggest flaw for me.

Where do you get these angle pads?
