Denon AH-D7000

I've been pretty happy with the D7000, but I've also been dreaming about the Fostex TH900. As money is tight, I'm trying to dissuade myself from the need to upgrade. Can anyone relate? 'It's good enough!' I keep trying to tell myself. Yeah. Welcome to Head-Fi, and...You know the rest.

I know if I had the TH-900s I could bring myself to like the urashi finish, but as it stands having seen the urashi in person a few times and owning the D7000s, I like just like the rich mahogany more. I think the red is slighty tacky.

The TH-900s are double the price that the D7000s were going for in Japan. I cant justify it, but would love to upgrade.

Lets see how the TH-600s turn out.

Definitely. The TH-900 looks like some kind of cheap lacquer was applied to the cups. I think I see where they wanted to go with it, but it just didn't work out for them.

Urushi (not 'Urashi') coating with metal leaf is one of the traditional japanese handcraft. It is expensive, but not affect to sound quality. Unless you want to buy a folkcraft art, this elaborate finish does not have any value.

Hello, I'm new to this thread. I honestly didn't have time to read over 300 pages, so could anyone tell me what are some of the amps many of you have found to be an ideal pairing with the D7000? I think the general consensus is that the D7000 is not that picky about amping due to its low impedance and high sensitivity. Having a low impedance would imply that it may work better with solid state amps with a low output impedance, but I wonder if some of you had success with tube amps as too. People seem to recommend gears like WA6SE or ZDSE, but are there other choices one could think of?
