Looks like they are back to $995 now.  I would have jumped on them for $585.

It has been quite some time since I fallowed this thread.
I made the big purchases a couple years ago. I grabbed some D7000s with a Rockhopper M3 amp, MisterX Gamma2 y2 preamp, and a custom PBJ extension.

At that time JMoney pads, MarkL mod and I believe it was Lawton wood cups with a potential re-cable being the top end mods. Now, I desire to mod my D7000s.
Are there and other sources, people, or products I should know about?

God help my wallet.

Thanks so much for digging that up.  Although used/like new, at this price I am willing to take a chance on the condition and just placed my order.  Consider me "jumped".

 Thanks again.

Why you guys buying an used pair ? who knows you have D2K or D5K driver ?

You can call JR Audio and negotiate down to $625. That's what I did before I ended up buying here in Canada tax and shipping all include for $700.

Good luck...

Well, they aren't actually "used". They just cut the box tape, re-tape it, and ship it to you. The contents isn't touched.

I talked my brand new pair down to $564 shipped...

But you used physical violence and threats against their family, and that's just not right...

Actually not "used", they are new but are an open box.  $585.77.

I think the concern is that people order a new D7000, open them up and replace the drivers with some from the D2000s and send them back. Electronics Expo would see that the headphone looks untouched and sell them as an open box...

I think what he is saying, is that Electronics Expo opens them so they can sell them as open box (so they can get higher sales because of lower price).

Hmm never thought of that. Would they still make a decent profit, sell out, and stay in Denon's good books if that was something they practiced?
