I just ordered the 1961 Melz 1578 version from that same seller, I love the sound of the early sixties in that type of tube. They look similar but the sound drastically changed on those from the 70's and 80's.

I searched and searched and now have found the moniker given to GE tubes in Russia. GE's are not bad boys, tough dogs, etc. In Russia, they are lovingly called 'Molotov Cocktails'!!

We were laughing about this seller in another thread. Both triodes of every tube in the dozens of listings he has all measure exactly at 200 microamps. He sure has a talent for finding tubes that not only have perfectly matched triodes, but all match up with each other perfectly, regardless of manufacturer or when they were manufactured. I wonder if he actually turns his tester on, or maybe the needle is just permanently stuck on 200 microamps. ROFL!!
