Dan Clark Audio Stealth Review, Interview, Measurements

I asked myself the same question. I think there are some rumors about passive filters to achieve the FR so they could be the reason for the non-flat impedance.
I highly doubt that there are some passive components used in the path.
Rising impedance is probably due to frequency resonant of the driver.
Would like to hear some insight from @mrspeakers itself about that.

We don’t get into details on some aspects of the product, this is one…

Topping G5 is now available in the EU. I ordered one and should be here this week. I will check with Stealth.
Good idea to check this..
This little amp should be interesting if it can provide enough juice at 23 ohms to move properly/fully the Stealth... and it would perfect if in BT reception mode, battery would allow a 10 to 12 hours playing time with the Stealth.
Till now I can't play more than 5 hours with any of my portable amps like the Ampersand, the fiio M17 or the Less BX2+ ...

I still don't think that it will be possible to do more than 5-6 hours with this amp, frankly. But I will let you know.

I don't know about the BT listening with a Stealth or Expanse. I know LDAC measures well in objective tests, but experience with it has been anything but favourable.
The drop in sound quality is simply too much, it is a nice feature for occasional use, but not for serious listening. At any rate, BT mode should not extend battery life. Main culprit is always the power used to drive the headphones.
Optical? that should add a few minutes to operating time, since the interface uses the least amount of power, even slightly better than electrical SPDIF, so I believe.
USB and BT use the most.
G5 has a max. output of 1W. very respectable for a battery amp, but in reality it provides just 3dB extra power compared to a common 500mW amp.
DCA claims 500mW is enough, so 1W should certainly do.

BT ldac from 'optimized via crippling' Samsung phone mqa to gryphon ldac to stealth is upsettingly close to my main rig with CDT + ocxo. And I was about the chuck away my ldac chain when I haven't considered optimizing it. Let's put it that way.

Most sonic issues of BT is due to the BG services of the transport than the bandwidth of ldac.

I'd highly suggest the ifi go Blu since it beats the 3w fiio m17+DC power driving the stealth and susvara.

I saw this a few days ago.. but I bought so many of these type of portable amps that I am using mostly only :
-> Fiio M17 but it is really bulky, and the improvement with DC input is significant enough to be obliged to add an external battery pack for the DCA Stealth... then battery playing time is not enough for overseas flights
-> Centrance Ampersand offers nice results with the DCA Stealth, but it definitely need to add a DAP to be connected as input (4.4mm)

All other similar amp to this Topping G5 like Xduoo XD05, Centrance M8V2, Kann Alpha are falling short with the 23 ohms of the DCA Stealth and battery life can be improved.

In real life the Centrance M8V2, the BT input needs far less juice than the USB-C input+DAC (2 or 3 times less)... so battery life is significantly longer in BT input mode (unfortunately Aptx only)

Then about SQ .. I agree .. there are some loss with a BT input mode even with LDAC codec, but, on trips as I always need a smartphone. It is clearly a very comfortable alternative to use the Headphone+BT amp on one side and the Smartphone connected to an usb-c SSD or a Streaming Provider (Qobuz) or an Upnp Server that (no DAP can do this without smartphone).. than in hotel with can connect the Amp to the smartphone by wire and use the DAC of the amp (when there is one).

So many acronyms in your post, I didn't get it.
can you explain it more in layman's terms please.

CDT + ocxo = CD transport and oven controlled crystal clock.

BG services = background services on the phone

M17 + DC power = m17 powered by ifi elite with line conditioner.

Android phone on typical operation doesn't sound good for critical listening when connecting to gryphon via ldac, or any other tws. Even in it's optimized form, just connecting to wifi and streaming tidal can be piercing/peaky and not comfortable. But when turning off wifi and going offline on tidal, the sq is to die for. The great thing with Samsung phones is compatibility with Atmos, 360 reality audio and mqa. So much so that I can't be bothered with regular pcm and Qobuz anymore. Atmos and 360 reality audio will change how we listen with headphones.
