Yes, I am up-to-date. I am on the same wifi as the K17. My screen looks exactly like that. However, there is nothing I can do to change any of the EQ values (i.e. selecting a frequency, changing the gain dB values, etc.). It's literally like I'm just looking at a photo of the screen with no functionality whatsoever. Nothing is selectable or changeable. What am I missing??
Dear friend,

Hi, what's the firmware version, APP version and mobile phone name? Thanks in advance!

Best regards

Same issues. :persevere:

❌ "Reset all" doesn't reset BT settings - it won't go to Discoverable Mode. Tried "Reset BT", still didn't go to Discoverable Mode. Did "Reset Settings" - triggered a freeze AGAIN - stuck in PO+PRE and UH. Had to reset using the switch at the back.

❌ Wifi STILL doesn't connect to wireless network with english special character in its password.

Dear friend,
Hi, the main controller V193 firmware is OTA. You could try to update to see whether the issue remains? And if you have other Wifi or Hotspot, please have a try.
And here is the pictures of connecting to K17 to iPad:

Thank you for your reply. I was able to connect to the K17 after updating to V193 firmware by pretending that the K17 is a DAP. Unfortunately, when combined with a K17, the DAP control is essentially useless:

Volume - Although I can change the volume with the DAP control, there is no synching between the app and the current volume of the K17. If, for example, the K17 is currently set to 10 volume, when I open the control app it shows the previous app volume (e.g., 30) and if I touch the app volume with my finger, the volume of the K17 immediately jumps to the previous app volume (e.g., 30). This can lead to unpleasant results.
Mode - There is no way to change modes (e.g., from streaming to coaxial).
Playback -When streaming from Roon, the pause, play, next buttons do not work and, when they are pressed, there is a message that says "please switch to local playback"
EQ - Although I can see that "rock" is the EQ setting, the EQ page looks too problematic to even try to use and I am concerned that I will set something in the K17 that cannot be easily undone.

I suspect that all of these issues (and others that I did not find) are due to the fact that the DAP control software was never intended for use with the K17 (or any other amp). I will wait for the version of the iOS control app that actually shows the K17 as a compatible amp. Please post when that version of the iOS app is released. Again, the K17 is a great product and a bargain for the price. Hopefully, the iOS app will catch up soon.

Dear friend,

Hi,
1. Volume synching problem will be improved in later firmware update.
2. Modes switching will be added in later firmware update.
3. Track switching in Roon mode will required to assess first. We haven't develop this functions.
4. We will keep improving the APP and release newer version.

Best regards

Any more recommendations for how to customize EQ settings?

You can now use the FiiO Control application on both Android and IOS to edit the various PEQ filters. Assuming you configure the K17 as a DAP device you then see the K17 as follows:

Then clicking the Peq option shows the current selected PEQ (i.e. Rock):

IMG_5120.PNG

but then click on that Filter name i.e. "Rock" in the top left hand corner and it then shows all the other PEQ filters to switch too:
IMG_5121.PNG

So switching to Custom one you can then edit that custom PEQ with the now standard FiiO PEQ editor (including the advanced fine tuning):

So, this recent update finally does solve the biggest issue I had with the K17 and I will update my review later on this evening with more details of the fixes I have found with the recent updates. I imagine there are still a few bugs but for me it is finally mostly a complete device now.

With the PEQ I feel its only missing support via the https://fiiocontrol.fiio.com as I do like the ability it input and export filters from my MacBook.

I can access the PEQ screens in the Connect app and can select various presets which then are reflected on the K17 itself. I can hear the sound changing when doing this, so I know it's working on that sense. I can also change the name of the Custom PEQ profiles which are then visible on the K17.

HOWEVER, I do not see any of the sliders or adjustments as shown in your photos. That area on my Connect app is blank. I cannot click or select anything to change it. My K17 firmware is up to date as is my Connect app. I am accessing the K17 as a DAP/player as you mentioned. :frowning2:

A representative from Fiio was trying to troubleshoot this with me in previous messages in this discussion but I guess they gave up. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Dear friend,

Hi, the engineer still failed to reproduce the issue. Please try to uninstall the FiiO Control app and install it again. When opening the APP for the first time, some permission will be required and please agree all the permission.

Best regards

Dear friend,

Thanks for sharing. And the support via the https://fiiocontrol.fiio.com may not be added for K17.

Okay, I just purged everything and reinstalled. The EQ now works faultlessly. I'm not sure what happened. Perhaps a firmware upgrade file I had previously downloaded was corrupt?
