I'm a little concerned about the UM hybrid tour, the price is right in my line of firing range. I really don't need anymore IEM trying to tear my wallets testicles off.

I'm meant to be focusing on one last full-size headphone and calling it quits for a while (meaning purchases)

So in some ways I hope it under performs.

Well, I really felt the emotion from them personally, that was only using Colorfly C3  and Studio V units as sources. It wasn't every song, wasn't like I was swept away with every track like an instant orgasm but if the timing was right in the right environment with the right track it was certainly there for me and there times the emotion found me rather than looking for it. I guess it depends on your outlook on life, what you've experienced (in life) where you are in life,  your age, many psychological factors. For me the 1Plus2 dug past detail and technical stance, bringing out a new meaning in songs. Others report the same thing, I think Lee gets it quite a lot. Other report it using Studio V units. So for each person is different, it was certainly there. A combination of being overwhelmed and absorbed.

Something like this song with very strong vocals and already a firm meaning. This track here simply will not sound the same, the impact and depth.

Just out of interest what source were you using for your demo period?

Yea, it's such a personal thing. Maybe that's why I say it didn't do it for me, to put it out there that it's not guaranteed. Source chain could also play as role. Sometimes things just need to click.

I listened through the iPhone 4S, 4S > Meier Quickstep, Yulong D100 MKII, and D100 > Quickstep. I tried every combo I had at the time lol.

The Quickstep especially I describe as neutral and musical. And it just wasn't helping.

I'll give that track a listen

I had the 1plus2 for a while and whole they were awesome I wasn't completely sold on them. The mids were overly recessed for my taste.

They were however the best IEM that I have heard but at this point in time I would rather invest it into a nice headphone setup.

I have to agree with you there mate...

When @AnakChan came to Perth and we did a small Perth meetup last year in December, he brought with him his 1P2, and TG!334 - I listened to them both and while 1P2 was incredibly detailed, it's just didn't hit me, whereas the minute I put TG!334 into my ear, I was like "holy moly..." -- fast forward a week later (few days before Xmas), I received my Rooth LSX5 universal hybrid (4BA/dynamic), and while I was rather annoyed at first listen (super bright and sparkly treble), I decided to take that with me on my 3 weeks holiday and getting accustomed to it, when I am back in Perth last week, after 3 weeks intimacy with LSX5, I just could not listen to any of my other IEM anymore, and remembering what AnakChan's 1P2 sounded like, it didn't come any close to my LSX5 for sure...

...but that might be just me...

I wanted to say this for quite a while back, but great mini review on those 1plus2 iems, they seem great and sounds awesome to listen to. Too bad it's in a competitive year, where other iem goodies might be favored against it due to people's SQ preferences. I know it'll still have a lot of fans though!

Yeah, after hearing the 1Plus2 I figured the only thing that could deter you from them is sound signature preference just like what the others wrote in the previous posts. If you love mids particularly the vocals then I'm sure you won't find the 1Plus2 spectacular. It doesn't highlight anything in the middle so nothing special there to get your attention. But if you take the entire presentation as a whole, they are very musical and really pleasing to hear. I wasn't WOWed by the 1Plus2 but I also can't deny that I enjoyed every second I had them in my ears; more than any other IEM in my collection.

The Havi B3 has finally been shipped and on its way to Australia. Hopefully it'll get here in a week's time.

In the mean time, I have started listening to the KEF M200 as part of the Dual Dynamics Trilogy review.
I just got to share my initial findings:

The KEF M200's bass response is probably the best I've heard in an IEM. Those who know me are witnesses to my undying love for the H200's bass performance but today I just got to declare that the M200 is better than the H200 in the bass department. The KEF's bass response has got great speed, nice decay, rich/full texture, magnificent layering, and very natural timbre! These are the tracks that I used to evaluate my findings:
  1. Metallica - Dyer's Eve
  2. Pantera - Domination
  3. Daft Punk - Giorgio by Moroder
  4. Adele - Rumour Has It
  5. Train - Drive By

I'm not declaring that the M200 is the best IEM under $250 but it probably has the best Bass Response in this price range.

Very nice review. Might have to purchase these in the future. Never considered purchasing another phone that cost over $1000 since owning the JH13 and JH16. These might be an exception though.

HA! I use to live in Kahaluu ;)... I now live in Kaneohe. This is the older 1Plus2 and the new model is a lot better. Still this unit gave me months and months of pleasure. I find it better than the AKG3003 and Fit Ear 334 hands down...

@ dmarc, nice review. Glad you enjoyed them :).

Oh lol. Didn't know there was another Kahaluu :P. Kinda like there being another Kailua :)

Yeah the new 1Plus2 is crazy good. It's my reference sound. Although you can get tons of enjoyment from the Flat 4 Sui also (great value in terms of the sound you get!)

I'm listening to them now with the Fiio X5. Sublime pairing. I can't wait to buy an X5. It's perfect synergy IMO. If I had to I could live with this single rig and still be happy :).

You're welcome :). I'd have to say the Sui gets the most usage out of all my gear. the X5 brought that spark back for me yet again :).
