What's up with all these limited edition collector's amps lately?

Let's hope that the SuperDual does end up as a "limited edition". Now I almost wish that I would not have sold that second SD...

Xin states:

"At this time, I don't know the future of SuperDual. After the company (Xin Techs) is closed, I have no intention to make/sell them, to avoid any possible troubles, even though it is indeed a very unique amp and Ty and I have put lots of efforts into it."

Its not that final. See here: http://www.fixup.net/talk/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=217

Thank you (and many others) for your kindly concern and I'm fine. That's not my business, but a company tried to commercialize my amps. Ty and I did our very best and everything was going excellently, but the operation had to stop due to unbelievable reason.

At this time, I'm still quite lost in the middle of the Pacific ocean and still don't know exactly what happened or why it happened. But I'll reach the shore shortly and bring you guys some new cool stuff.

Yeah, I read that. The two posts were made within minutes of each other.

Believe me, in no way am I trying to be the voice of doom. I own a supermini and supermicro. I am still hoping I'll get a chance to listen to the superdual.

I hope all this works out well for Xin.

Ok, now that is something completely different...wow don't quite know what to say. Lost in the middle of the Pacific? How is he posting to his forum, via satellite? Weird.

And I am supposed to send back my SuperDual for an upgrade...hmmm...might have to think about this before I do it.

I think it's a metaphor, or more accurately a simile.

It seems the address for sending SuperDual back for upgrade is actually the same as Dr. Xin's address.
http://www.xintechs.com/contacts/index.htm#MailAddress
http://www.fixup.net/contact.htm

As Dr. Xin has mentioned in his forum that he will take responsibility for the SuperDual sold even though he has no full control of Xintechs, so I think everyone should feel safe to send it back for upgrade.

And even though the Xintechs has ceased operation, according to the great support Dr. Xin was providing for his amps, I believe he will still support the SuperDual. So the owners of SuperDual should feel peace of mind.

Argh.....No one contacted me either. I just came across the update on the Xintechs webpage. I wonder how many amps are in front of mine for upgrade.

I can't be without this thing that long. Damnit......

I think you're right on the money, Smriti. From all that I've read, I get the impression that Dr. Xin will take care of those who have purchased the Superdual in regard to the problems/upgrade, but in all likelihood, will not be involved in the production of these units in the future.

That's just the way it looks to me.

Looks like he is asking all SD owners to ship their units to his original Xin Technologies address. I don't know if this means anything, but I am sure Xin will fix whatever problems there are and live up to his reputation.

That's truly a pity, I thought the SD offered a LOT for the money. I think it would have become the standard for entry-level portable amplifers.

While I don't have a lot of experience with other amps, for it's size and how well it works with my headphone of choice, it was a wonderful deal. Oh well...

I just received a personal email from Xin (I'm pretty sure it was personal: xfeng@xintechs.com), telling me to send him the SD directly (Xin Feng
618 9TH ST #23, Davis, CA 95616 - I don't think that's in the Pacific Ocean!!), and that it would be a one-day turn-around.

Hope this helps.
