Can't wait to see how HiFiMAN re400 ranks. It really surprised me, it just sounded right constantly with any music. I genuenly expect it to land in B- or even B. I might be optimistic because it has mind blowing tonality for 25$ it can be found for.

I didn't find either of the RE400 or 600 balanced sounding, there's a bit of a lower treble boost. 600 is an improvement over the 400 though.

Yeah, that was very audible even on first listen, but it isn't a huge amount and isn't harsh, I wouldn't even call it particularly bright. This might even be a very good thing for additional details you perceive given the driver limitations. You can't expect fully balanced sound for dirt cheap though.

If you find that there is an issue with the FR measurement, please contact Music Sanctuary and have that demo unit replaced. I am not responsible for any oversights your manufacturer may have; whatever you have available for me to try out, I shall take at face value.

Not being disrespectful by any means, but I would also add (as is stated at the beginning of this thread) that the equipment with which these measurements were taken is not pro grade either. Definitely not the same equipment manufacturers would use.
