Unfortunately I haven't heard the silver and gold but I'm a really big fan of the Mundorf silver in oil. Great sounding cap.

Audyn q4 cap, I found it to be good value for money. But we will see:)
Audyn are good value as well as Sonic caps. Mundorf have their fans but have become very expensive as of late.

I never thought about price too much, local folks paid as much as $3,000 for amps I designed, that money paid for most all of my gear including my tube collection.🤪

So i finally installed the speedball upgrade. Not very difficult.

I think speedball is a must with hd650 (which is abviously subjective). Much better definition, air and punch. I also like TS5998 much better than the stock GE6as7ga.

Now time to change output caps:)
Textbook clean. Mine not so much... but by Winter it'll be cleaned up, and include two very large (60 mm x 76 mm) matched Clarity Cap CSA 100 uf

Yeah, i was intending to go for mundorf, but audyn's are much cheaper so i decided to go for them. For now BHC is just to experiment so i am going step by step, strating from standard unit, next speedball, next Audyns and we will see. I am having a lot of fun and learning a lot.

Really recommend everyone to do the same and not to start with fully upgraded Crack.

Let go my Feliks Euforia and downgraded to a prebuilt BHC and I do like it so far.
Don’t have a list of modifications, I can see the Mundorf caps, though.IMG_2691.jpeg

From the pics your upgraded BHC also has Cree diodes, upgraded volume pot, CX-7 choke, speed ball, and Mundorf caps.
The way those caps are placed I'm surprised you are able to fit that in the case.

Considering you would pay close to $500 U.S. for the unmade kit and your upgrades I would consider it a great deal.
I am not sure what type of volume pot that is but with the caps and other upgrades it is probably worth close to $1000 with labor factored in.

I always built my own Crack cabinets so they would accommodate large caps as well as VU meters.🤪

I really enjoy Sonic Caps as well. They have great performance for the price and are my usual go-to cap now if I don't want to pay a premium for upper end Mundorfs, VCaps, Jupitor, and the like.
