No what I read about the Calyx M is that it had quite a few bugs and as I'm in the UK it was a little harder to get a hold of

Can you share the bugs for buyers, which you red ?

a couple of reviews I had read, not bad reviews but enough to make me buy the Plenue which has pushed my DX50 out of the picture

Hello guys,

Does P1 playes DSD natively or converting to PCM ?

I didn't read anything about DSD chip like 240 but curious about it.

Thanks

No, it doesn't "convert to PCM". The sample rate is not decimated.

The P1 uses the PCM1792A, which you can read about here: http://www.ti.com/general/docs/lit/getliterature.tsp?genericPartNumber=PCM1792A&fileType=pdf

Thanks. Then DAC supports DSD,not include Xmos chip like 240,right?

Both the CS4398 and the PCM1792A support DSD natively. That means that the incoming data is passed directly to the DAC chip without any decimation and requantization (i.e. resampling 1-bit, 5.6/11.2 MHz data into 24-bit, 352.8 kHz), and the DAC chip will perform delta-sigma modulation on the incoming data in whichever way the chip was designed to do. Most current DAC chips have this capability these days. You needn't really worry.

The XMOS chip is mostly used for USB transceiver duties, but it can also be programmed to include DoP headers so that the DAC chip recognizes the incoming data as PCM or DSD. Chances are the P1 also has an XMOS chip inside for USB DAC duties. But it doesn't have anything to do with native DSD or DSD to PCM.

Hello,

reading up on the P1 here and elsewhere convinced me to buy one recently and I'm really enjoying it. Sound quality and capacity was a big attraction for me. As a long time user of Itunes and Ipods it's been an interesting experience.

I'm using XLD to edit tags and images for my flac files. Does anyone have any alternative suggestions as i'm curious to know what is available,

thanks

Astell&kern ak100II ,AK120II there hifiman players but i don't recommend them because of their famous user interface compared to ipods!!! And sony walkman zx1 also a good option if you are fine with the fixed 128 g memory
