confused: how to get the most out of my dac with computer as source?

I have no 'hate' for usb as you seem to put it I am just very suspicous it becaus enot many dac seems to have implemented it well. Why no lavry or benchmark? because multiple persons have stated that the chello 220 mk2 and the bel canto dac3 are both better sounding then those two, and I am willing to spend the extra cash after all so I would rather go with optical anbd one of the a bi tmore expensive dacs if that would give me the better sound over the lavry or benchmark. Why is the stello no longer on my list, because multiple persons told me the bel canto sounded better.

Actually, the results should depend greatly on specific gear implementation. I understood that DACs like Benchmark DAC1 or Lavry DA11 (which I own) have excellent USB implementation. Is there anything wrong with those.

Of course, the Weiss option stated above is very valid, but a little more pricey.

Hey Miguel, thanks for the info, the problem is that 1. I dont htink the rwa dac has balanced outputs and 2. I dont really fancy running from batteries although it might sound better, I would think it would be rather impractical but these are just thoughts of course since I have never used this system to try its practicality. Also I am looking for a dac-only not a dac+headphone amp.
Thanks for the tip though!

You are correct Anouk, the Isabellina does not have balanced outputs. If you have a chance you may wish to look into the products by Monarchy Audio. I have their NM24 DAC and it sounds fantastic, although it would not be for you since it does not have balance outs. However Monarchy Audio has made several dac models which have balanced outs. BTW, how do you plan to feed the dac from your pc? Good luck.

Hey Miguel, thanks for the info, i will put that in the list! Lol, that has been what this whole thread is about, how best to feed the dac if you use computer audio. I dont think I will buy one immediatley htough. My ibasso d10 will get me through a few more months. But I started this thread, mainly because I was confuded what would be the best way to feed the dac from the computer. I still need to do a lot of reading till I make my final choice.
Thanks,
Greetings, Anouk,
