I love the sound of my 840s but the ear pads kill the back edges of my ears.  Can someone point me in the direction of a good closed can with slightly larger ear openings?  Thank you.

Denon D2000? Slightly bigger from memory.
 
You could also source something like the $JMoney lamb skin pads which should make things nice and soft.
