Remco, actually I don't think that DT770/600 suffers from detail in the highs compared to k501. And as I recall you're a k50?-man...? It's a different sound, though...

I did some searching for the DT770/600, and much too my surprise also several European webshops carry them for less then Beyer's Manufaktur price. Though you won't have the option of leather pads and the like, which is fine by me.

I know this is an old thread, but I need to add, that I found exceptional good synergy with DT770/600 and Lisa III. I use the Lisa III's bass boost often at two or three o'clock. This combination is simply amazing.
