I am looking for a transparent-sounding headphone with good midrange transparency and dynamics (for classical and acoustic jazz) for use with a Little Dot Mk. III or Darkvoice 336SE, priced at about EUR 200 or thereabouts. Does anyone have a particular recommendation? I suppose it will be Sennheiser, AKG or Beyer....

Sennheiser HD600 shows good midrange details and it's very good for these genres, few other headphones are recommended too like SR325i, AD1000, FA-002 and DT880(600 Ohm).

The K-701/2 are great for classical and acoustic jazz, but I'm not sure how great they will match with the tubes that you've mention.
Thanks. I have now ordered the Little Dot Mk. III, and it looks like I will go for the Beyer DT880 (600 Ohm), the Sennheiser 650 or Sennheiser 600. Given the choice of amp, which would you recommend (lucid midband and airy, detailed treble are especially important)? In particular, I would be interested to know the difference between the two Sennheisers. I believe the 600 is the professional monitoring model, and has a flatter response (and is cheaper), so why do so many audiophiles prefer the 650?
