The 3.5mm and RCAs are the exact same output circuit. They are in fact wired togeher.

so you mean the difference I am hearing is due to cable differences

Thank you! I ordered Supra USB :p

I’m rocking the Supra on my Mojo due to it being longer and more ergonomic. It’s a great choice, probably the best sub 50$ USB cable on the market and very under rated

May I know where can I order Supra cable from?

i do not know why i find the 3.5mm output to sound thin and lacking compared to the rca output in line level out mode when fed separately in the stax amp srm323s, could be the difference between cables, but the rca output sounds alot better, i guess to compare better i need two identical cables but no way would i use the 3.5mm output as for now

i am not that big believer in cables but the difference is big, i hope its just the difference in cables that is contributing to this, otherwise i will need to keep plugging and unplugging rca cables every-time i want to listen to one of the systems

The cables are probably causing this difference. The RCA output could also be providing a better electrical contact than the 3.5mm output.

I finally found a use for my Hugo 2, it had been sitting idle for months and was barely used as I always chose mojo and poly since it worked good indoors and, it never tethered me to anything.

I took my Chromecast Audio out of the back of the mscaler, hooked it up to my Hugo 2 with a optical cable ( it’s an extremely thin opt cable, and I forgot which Chord device it came from ? )and then I hooked CCA to my Anker 20100mah usb power bank and, bingo, I now have a use for Hugo 2, listening to tunes in my bed without power wires and apple CCK adapters all over the place. Mojo and Poly have been retired until I see what the new firmware and gofigure app do for it.

Listening with my latest iem’s, iBasso iT01S, they look nice and the cable has to be the best cable I have ever seen as a stock iem cable. It’s extremely nice and for being a 2 wire pattern, it’s pretty damn thick and is balanced natively and comes with a 3.5mm adapter.

I thought my old iBasso iT01 cable was nice, the iT01S cable has totally blown it away.

Bedtime tunes will never be the same again.

I'm using a CCA with mine too. The optical cable you have came from the Hugo2 I think. At least I have one sat in my box anyway. The CCA works remarkably well with the H2 for such an inexpensive device! I'm feeding it with Roon and Tidal streams to great effect. Do you find that CCA benefits from a beefy USB supply?

I assume there will be fewer hours of sleep from now on then

Yeah, but not because of Hugo, it’s caused by a new puppy we just got, 10 weeks old and he doesn’t want to sleep in his cage and lets us know all about it with his pining, then once he does fall asleep, he then wakens about 5:30am most days and it starts all over again.

The good thing is, he is extremely well trained to piss and poop on his puppy mats, even on command which is super cool and, he hasn’t messed up any of our carpets which is good.

Chances are high that Hugo will also eat into my sleep hours. I just bought another CCA so I can leave one connected to my mscaler and the other for hugo.

For £21 you can’t go wrong.

Mymemory.co.uk sells them for that price.

hey all,

may i find out if there is an alternative to the Hugo 2 that is on par in terms of SQ and resolution but cheaper?

i was looking at Qutest but it's dac only which is still okay as i have the JDS Atom

alternative suggestions would be awesome!

ps. priority still Hugo 2 lol
